Room: Menzies Suite Occasion: Wedding The team at the Hyatt Canberra was great and accommodating. A special shout out to Rowena who was a communicative and friendly point of contact during our wedding day. We got our room prepared far in advance, with some lovely compliments. The venue is spectacular with some very photogenic locations. We (and our family) had a wonderful time here. Hope to stay here again.

My husband and our guests had such a fantastic experience at The Hyatt Hotel in Canberra. It is located in a heritage listed building, and was the venue for a wedding renewal reception for high tea. The service was superb, as was the food. A private Mimi bar was set up in the function room which made it very handy for guests to purchase extra alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The hotel room where we stayed was well-appointed. We loved the opulent decor of the rooms. The staff surprised us with wine and chocolates to mark our special occasion. Thank you Hyatt Canberra for such a memorable experience đ

Lovely old hotel, but very characteristically of Hyatt AU, the rooms need a furniture, surface, and fixing refresh. Very large grounds, it made for an exciting labyrinth. Although numerous empty, awkward, or undecorated spaces once past the lobby and bar that didnât make you feel good about the money spent to stay this location. Nice proximity to the lake for a stroll but youâll need to make your way out of the area for good cafes.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra for their buffet dinner and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The selection of dishes was outstanding â fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. A special thank you to Jack, whose friendly nature and professionalism added an extra touch of charm to the evening. He made us feel welcome and well looked after, and itâs clear he genuinely cares about the guestsâ experience.

Great location, and lovely room, but like others we experienced terrible service. Arrived tired after a long drive and were greeted most oddly by reception as a bit of an inconvenience that we wanted to check in. Questions about EV charging werenât able to be answered, and no directions to any parts of the hotel were given, except the car park. An offer was made to take bags to our room, but we had to bring them in up 7 stairs (travelling with my elderly mother this wasnât an option). Later in the stay we remarked that some signage to find places would be useful with reception stating âitâs an old buildingâ - not sure how this affects what signs you place - the rooms certainly had them, but none to find the car park, reception or pool! Top it off with school holidays and some uncontrolled kids (running around âplayingâ in reception and the restaurant), and it really wasnât up to our expectations of the historic building and the Hyatt brand.
