Customer service was awful. I paid for a Classic King room, which from the pictures looked reasonably sized. However the room was way too small, with barely any room around the bed to walk around. It was clearly a room designed for a single bed but they put in a king bed. I went to reception to confirm if the room I was in was a king room and they said yes. When I said it's a lot smaller than the advertised photos they told me "if you wanted a bigger room you should have said so in the notes of your online reservation". What an absolutely stupid system. On top of that, reception took a long time to get us into our room because they couldn't find my booking. The chromecast in the room wasn't working and reception's excuse was "we had a cyber attack 2 months ago and we haven't been able to fix it", which sounds like a totally made up story. The only good thing about this place was the location. Other than that very overpriced, awful service and small rooms. Don't go here.

Very rarely do I encounter such understanding and helpful staff. Staying at this hotel turned out to be a great decision. The rooms are very nice, but what was most impressive was how much compassion and understanding the staff practiced when we encountered a small issue, that I’m sure with most average hotels would of created some headache and pain for my family. But the staff at Kurrajong hotel found a way to solve our problem allowing my family to continue our Easter holiday as if there was no issues at all. Thank you to the staff.

As a regular traveller to Canberra, I’ve often stayed at another well-known hotel. But after my recent stay at Kurrajong, that’s changed. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The service is warm and professional. The heritage charm gives it a unique feel without compromising on comfort. What stood out most was the atmosphere — quiet, refined, and genuinely welcoming. From now on, Kurrajong will be my go-to every time I’m in town. Highly recommend.

I had a lovely stay here. I chose this hotel because of the central location, which is unbeatable. I didn't have a rental car and wasn't driving, so I took advantage of the e-scooters. I found it only took me about 15 or so minutes to get to the CBD through this mode of transport. The hotel is also quite close to the shops and the eateries in Kingston and Griffith. Even closer to the National Library and Gallery. The staff were very friendly and professional, and the place even smells amazing as you walk in. It just looks nice, and it was cool inside on a hot day. I highly recommend paying for morning breakfast as it was very good with some healthy options. The coffee is some of the best I've ever had in a hotel. I had dinner a couple of nights here and it was very good. The courtyard is very pleasant for a quiet drink after a busy day. As a solo traveller, I felt no discomfort spending time in that area. The bed was firm, but I slept fine. The shower was fabulous. The room was very quiet where I was. Well, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when next in Canberra.

An amazing hotel, steeped in Australian and Canberran history. Still retains old world charm with all the modern touches needed. The rooms are spacious, good beds and pillows. The restaurant and bar are lovely, great cocktails, snacks and breakfast. The courtyard is a little pocket of calm. Good location, with places easy to get to. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will happily return.
