Reviews for Peppers Gallery Hotel

We had an incredible experience at Peppers Gallery Hotel in Canberra! The service was absolutely amazing—every staff member went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. A special mention to Matt, the General Manager, who has truly turned this hotel around. I stayed here back in 2016 and while it was decent then, the improvements since are remarkable. The whole atmosphere, attention to detail, and overall quality have been elevated to a whole new level. I can’t wait to come back and stay again. Highly recommend it 👌🏻

I stayed for 5 nights. The location suited me well as work in very nearby. The whole process of check in and out was smooth. Rooms were well designed, decorated, and clean. Was a bit spoiled to come back each night to a clean room and freshly made bed. Very much appreciated. Restaurant was also very handy, great decor and style, nice food. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

Rooms are in need of some upkeep but they weren’t bad enough to keep me from staying here again. What really got under my skin was the lack of interest or concern in enforcing the ‘no parking’ area at the front entrance, where selfish losers parked their cars overnight because they were too tight or too lazy to find and pay for street parking. There’s first and best dressed, and then there’s the lot who reckon they’re simply that much more important than everybody else — so stuff the rest and stuff the courtesy almost all of the other guests were willing to exercise — staff and management should have some backbone and charge these losers for parking.

The staff make this hotel receive more stars than I might grant. They were friendly, helpful, attentive & happy to add a late check out. The breakfast was delicious & they made a nice cup of coffee. The rooms were a decent size, & clean. The lighting though really needs some additions. Both the bathroom & room were too dark and made it difficult to apply makeup. They hadn’t gone through the mini fridge as there was old medication still there. The hallways, window ledges & stairways have seen better days and need more attention. Like a basic dust & good clean. Even the stair railing was quite dusty. If they did this, it would lift the hotel. I would still consider staying again as the location is great, the room was quiet & clean, the bed was comfy but only with better lighting.

The location was great. The staff were lovely but the hotel is certainly not worth the money it cost. At $300 a night you don’t expect mould and a bed head with the vinyl peeling off. When we spoke to the front desk they said it was on the list for renovation. There is no way that the room should have been booked and for $300 a night none the less. Will not be staying here ever again.
