Came to Olio for my birthday as I live nearby and had a good experience. The interior is rustic and elegant with large ceilings so feels very ambient and romantic (which I love). The lovely lady who looked after us was delightful and am grateful to the staff who catered to my special requests (pre-booking). We ordered a range of dishes to share, all which were tasty but nothing super special. Only comment is that we ordered a foccacia and was given sourdough and was told they didn’t have any focaccia on the night so that was what they served (which we would usually expect to be complimentary bread for a restaurant of this kind) - just hoped they would have told us this when we ordered it so we could reconsider our options.

visited olio at central park to try their $59 set lunch menu. honestly, it was a pretty mid experience overall. the burrata & prosciutto starter and the salmone main were definitely the standouts—fresh, well-seasoned, and enjoyable. the bottomless tiramisu was a highlight too: light, creamy, and you could definitely go back for seconds. however, for the overall quality and portion size, the price didn’t feel quite justified. also, be mindful of their surcharges: 10% for tables of 6 or more, 10% on sundays, and 15% on public holidays—if you tick all those boxes, you’re looking at a 35% surcharge, which is quite steep. great spot if you’re after a nice ambiance and a good tiramisu fix, but personally wouldn’t rush back given the value for money.

We recently received an unexpected email from Olio, offering us a complimentary dinner worth $500. The reason? The restaurant felt that some guests, including us, might not have had the best experience during their Valentine’s Day dinner service. To be honest, while we were seated outdoors that evening and the conditions were certainly different from the indoor setting, we had no complaints whatsoever. The $138 Valentine’s Day menu was already a great value, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Tonight, we were invited back for this complimentary dinner, and I must say, we are truly touched and impressed. It speaks volumes about the generosity and wisdom of the owner. As business owners ourselves, we deeply respect the way Olio handles its reputation and customer relationships. This is the kind of mindset that defines long-term success. The dishes served tonight were undoubtedly some of the restaurant’s finest, showcasing their dedication to quality and excellence. It’s moments like these that remind us—success in business is all about perspective and vision. We will wholeheartedly recommend Olio to our friends, and given our influence in our social circles, we will do everything in our power to promote this outstanding restaurant. Olio is a true gem in the hospitality industry, and they have earned our highest respect.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the beef tartare — great depth of flavour, and the bread served with it was perfectly toasted, adding a nice crunch. The duck was also well-executed, with a balanced pairing and just the right amount of fat to keep it rich. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn’t quite live up to expectations. The kingfish entrée was a letdown — at $18 for just three small pieces, the portion felt more like a tasting sample than a proper entree and we were genuinely surprised when it arrived. The tiramisu, also $18, was similarly underwhelming in portion — just a single scoop — which felt overpriced for what it was. The pumpkin risotto was comforting but lacked the complexity you’d hope for in a fine dining dish. The flavour was quite one-dimensional, more reminiscent of something you’d serve someone who’s unwell than a rich, layered risotto experience. Overall, a few strong elements, but the value and execution across the menu were inconsistent. I think the portion sizes and pricing should be reviewed to entice returning customers — at the moment, it feels difficult to justify a return visit purely based on the experience and value.

We had an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Santiago took the time to explain the menu and recommended some excellent dishes along with the perfect wine pairings. We loved every plate and the variety of flavors. We will definitely be coming back!
