We had a lovely dinner overall. The food was great except for the prawn bisque soup. The flavour was still lovely but the soup was a bit watery for my liking, would have preferred a little cream on it to thicken it a bit. The barramundi though was to die for! I could eat another serving of that. The fish cooked perfectly- moist and crispy skin. Tomatoes in it were a perfect pair. And the best tiramisu I’ve had so far. It had depth and great balance to it. Note though that bisque flavour was in 3 of their dishes (as noted in the menu) - the soup, the pasta and the fish. So if you don’t mind that then good, but if you’d like to have a wide variety of flavours then this might put you off a bit. Service was excellent, not a very long wait in between dishes and the servers came by every now and then to check on us, which was a nice touch. The environment was nice, romantic and just a very good relaxed feel to it. However when we first entered we were seated next to the plants in the middle of the restaurant and the table was just too close to the plant which would have not made for a pleasant dining experience as the leaves were touching my shoulders. They did offer to move the plant, but we opted for a different table and they were able to accommodate us, so that was good too. Will definitely recommend this place.

The 9-course tasting menu offered a well-balanced structure and looked appealing at first glance. The meal started off on a good note — the first two courses arrived promptly, and the arancini (course 2) had a crisp exterior and a well-seasoned, creamy center. A solid start. But from there, things began to unravel. A 45-minute wait before course 3 seriously disrupted the rhythm of the meal, and even after checking with the staff, it took another 15 minutes to arrive. Courses 3 to 5 — prawn soup, pasta, and a fish dish — lacked individuality. The sauces tasted nearly identical across all three, leaving little contrast and depth. There was a sense of repetition rather than progression. The sorbet (course 6) was a refreshing interlude — cold, clean, and much needed at that point. Unfortunately, the steak (course 7) was very tough, lacking both tenderness and flavor. A dish that should’ve been a showstopper fell flat. The saving grace came near the end: the tiramisu (course 8) was rich, well-balanced, and easily the best bite of the night.

Celebrated friend's birthday here. The ambience is amazing and very cozy. Food quality was on point, especially the seafood section. It was absolutely new flavours and would love to visit again in the future to try course menus. However, food came out ridiculously late. We sat down at 6pm and had our food almost at 8pm. I have asked a couple of times to see if the food is coming out but to only have dismissive response 'it's coming' even without checking with the chefs. Despite this kind of experience the food was exceptional and worth visiting.

Their new Forged menu was absolutely delicious. The Chef really leaned into the question “when was the last time you tried something for the first time?” when creating the menu, and he nailed it to perfection. With each dish I was delighted yet surprised in the best possible way. It is an incredible experience to repeatedly be served a dish that you expect to taste a certain way, and then discover a whole new bunch of flavors and combinations of textures that you didn’t know were possible. The service was also great and the ambiance was awesome for a date night.

We had the privilege of capturing a couple of weddings at Olio and couldn't rave about the team here enough. They have been super helpful with our requests and questions at the back end of the planning process and they have been nothing but helpful on the day of the wedding itself for the guests, wedded couple and the vendors on board. They have always treated us as part of the team and that goes a long way in this industry. If you are thinking of having an inner city wedding with incredible Italian food right in the heart of one of the most vibrant suburbs in Sydney, then this is your place.
