Reviews for Crowne Plaza Coogee

Our family of four visited Coogee Beach for three nights in late March. My husband and I splurged on an oceanview room, which was great for the sunrise/sunset and hearing the waves from our room. Our adult kids stayed in a pool view room and could see the ocean to the side. Both rooms had a balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs, and it was nice to sit out there and enjoy a cup of tea or read a book. The rooms were excellent, parking lot was convenient with in/out privileges (for a daily fee), and we enjoyed the bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet was excellent and had a wonderful variety of options. The location was super convenient and walking distance to the beach and local shops and restaurants. I'm sure the upcoming renovation will be amazing!

We are so impressed with this stay!!!! After a very long flight from Arizona, the customer service at the Crown Plaza has been amazing. They were nice enough to let us check in to our room early and have been extremely accommodating. Janine has been so kind and helpful. After letting us check in early, Janine came to our room with champagne and chocolates to welcome us to this beautiful country! Did I mention that this is the perfect location for everything you need including the beach!! Will definitely recommend this to anyone coming to Australia soon!!

Stayed here one night for a conference. The conference facilities and public areas downstairs are excellent, clean and modern. That said, we went out for dinner with a view to returning to the very nice looking bar for a nightcap or two. No such luck, it was shut at 9.30pm so we went to the Coogee Bay Hotel next door and spent our money there for a few hours. The bar staff there said many people visit as a result of the same experience with the hotel. The room, whilst very large however was very tired retro 1990s. I never thought in the mid-2020s I would ever find myself standing in a plastic bath with a shower curtain beneath a single fixed shower head. I kept forgetting the toilet seat was not soft closing. Bang! No face mirror, no hair-dryer and while there was a steam iron, there was no plastic cup to fill it up with water. That led to the task of trying to fill an iron under a tap with an impossible angle. Not a single bottle of mineral water in the room, only eau de tap. Empty minibar but that is usual these days. Furniture very, very tired. A stained chaise longue looked like it had seen a bit of action over the decades. On the positive side the bed was good and there was enough for four cups of tea or coffee. The website says the hotel will be closed from April to September 2025 for full room renovations.

Amazing location. We had beautiful views from our 6 story interconnecting rooms. Easy walk to beach and restaurants. Rooms a little dated and bathroom door broken but overall nice. While the staff were all warm and friendly, it was obviously a short staffed long weekend and the hotel was at capacity. The queue for breakfast or reception desk was long. There was never any beach towels at the pool and not enough deck chairs (even though there was plenty of space for more). Our interconnecting door was locked on arrival (even though booking clearly stated they were interconnected). No one to help with luggage on arrival and departure. And the breakfast buffet was chaos! Not really good direction of flow so everyone wandering everywhere. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would likely return preferably on a quieter weekend! Tips: There are tiny QR codes on the wall at the pool that you can use to get drinks delivered. Bring your own beach or pool towels!

This hotel is a great option The views and location are gorgeous but the common areas are not kept clean especially around the pool and stairwells to beach are dirty and have never been cleaned , the spa is not heated and the area to sit around pool is way too small for the size of the hotel with lots of wasted space on that level , the rooms are comfortable but bathroom is tiny , very difficult to have two people in it at once . The breakfast was excellent and staff on this area were fabulous. The hallways to rooms often had rubbish or cups or dirty crockery lying in the hallway for a few days at a time. I stayed earlier in Nov as well and noticed this then too , even after cleaners had been on the floor Overall a wonderful stay but we didn’t use pool area due to its downfalls
