A Memorable Cricket Experience at an Iconic Venue! We recently attended the thrilling cricket match between Pakistan and Australia, and it was an unforgettable experience! The stadium is in fantastic condition, with well-maintained grounds and excellent facilities that made our visit comfortable and enjoyable. The atmosphere was electric, with both teams delivering a nail-biting performance that kept us on the edge of our seats. The crowd’s energy was contagious, and we all left with hoarse voices from cheering and chanting throughout the game. This venue isn’t just a historical gem but also a versatile one, hosting various events and sports. Located in an iconic setting, it’s a place that guarantees cherished memories every time we visit. A must-experience for any sports enthusiast!

It was a great experience! We took the train and got down at Central, crossed the tram lines and took the bus to Moore park stop. Walked across the huge car parking lawn to get to the stadium. The entry was quite easy and they do check your bags a little bit but not too fussy. You can take food and water, not sure about beverages. They also have merchandise and cafes behind the bays. We changed bays and seats since it was our first time experiencing a cricket match in person. The staff at the stadium were friendly and courteous and gave us tips to enhance our experience during our time there. We had reserved seats online, highly recommend. Glad we booked seats in bay 28, it had the best view of the pitch and the big screen. Plus the teams were sitting a little closer. Bays 28 and above are the best ones. Note that from the lowest 2-3 rows you will not be able to see the pitch, so although you get a closer glimpse at the players you may not get the full experience. The cafe behind bay 30 has one of the best fries! The washrooms are also closer. The best part was us fans were allowed to enter the ground and meet the players for pictures and autographs! It was indeed a great experience 👍🏻

I went for the Australia vs India Pink Test match day 1. My first experience watching a test match at SCG and I couldn't have asked for a better experience than this. Everything was so smooth from the security checks and transport management. I enjoyed the ambience especially the sporting crowd

The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is an iconic venue, and it was truly a privilege to attend Day 1 of the Pink Ball Test during the BGT 2024/25. The stadium offers a unique blend of the historic Members’ Stand and modern seating areas, creating a charming mix of old-world charm and contemporary design. The venue is conveniently located near the light rail at Moore Park, which connects to Central Station, providing easy access to the metro and train network. I had the opportunity to sit in the Brewongle Stand, Level 5, and the views were absolutely stunning. From there, you get a panoramic view of the entire stadium and the action on the field. While it was possible to move around to neighboring stands for different perspectives, many of the stands below and to the left were reserved for corporate or members’ seating, making access a bit more restricted compared to other areas. One drawback was the chaotic crowd handling and the stadium's age shows up here. While it didn’t ruin the overall experience, it did lead to long lines on narrow stairwells, as well as queues for washrooms and food. Exiting the stadium after the last ball was bowled was similarly congested. The stand I was in did not have water filling stations, though I’m aware that stands like the O’Reilly Stand are equipped with them. Food options were decent, but prices felt slightly higher compared to the MCG. These are minor issues, though, and it’s worth noting that given the SCG’s historic nature, there are limits to how much modernization is possible. It retains a certain old-stadium feel, which is part of its charm like the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, even if it lacks some of the sleekness of modernized venues like the MCG. Overall, the SCG remains an iconic venue, and I’m so glad I had the chance to witness a historic series and a wonderful day of cricket there.
