Reviews for Peppers Salt Resort Spa

We stayed for 2 nights for our 21st wedding anniversary and paid nearly $500/night. For this price I would expect hot water for my shower on the morning of our departure but unfortunately it was cold!! Having worked for Sheraton hotels for 13 years in the mid 80s to late 90s, I find it appalling that staff cannot even afford a smile and a hospitality greeting when they are checking you in, when you are asking for assistance or simply walking past you in the corridor! I felt like I was imposing on your staff by simply being there. The breakfast in Seasons was below standard and, again, apart from one friendly staff member, all others were rude and didn’t seem happy being there. We didn’t go to breakfast on the second morning because it was not worth the price. In addition, we went to what was signed as a “heated pool” but it was cold. The contemplation garden needs some of your landscapers to contemplate its existence. The room was comfortable but the “hinterland view” as advertised was a view of the road with associated traffic noise, and neighbouring houses. When we approached the front desk to ask for pool towels we were asked for tokens (which we had not been given), so the staff asked our room number and we were only given towels after the staff checked our record - we felt quite interrogated! The Guest Service Agent who checked us out helped redeem your property somewhat because he smiled and was quite friendly. However, all in all, we will not be visiting Peppers at Salt again.

Great place for a holiday - close enough to what you need but far enough away from the distractions of the world. The rooms are comfortable and clean, although the air con is either off or cold. The pool is great and it’s very close to the beach, both are excellent. If you enjoy happy hour drinks, you best enjoy lines as you’ll be waiting a while. We hired bikes but they weren’t in the best condition, however fine for cruising up the beach path. We were always greated with a smile from all employees and no question or request was too hard. Overall, very happy here which is why we’ve kept coming back over the years

We are currently staying at Peppers Kingscliff. This is my 3rd stay since Covid and the issues I forgave “post covid” have not been resolved. My biggest complaint however is that I booked a 1 bedroom PRIVATE plunge pool to discover today that the dual key room next door is now occupied and is SHARING said private pool. When I went to reception to complain that nowhere in my booking does it state “shared” private plunge pool she merely said “it says it somewhere on our website”. Does it? I can’t find it. Have searched and searched. Had I known this I’d have happily paid extra for 2 bedrooms. So now I’m livid because the room is shabby, service is terrible, towels shocking. I could continue but I’d be exhausted. I never write a bad review as it can usually be resolved but here they don’t seem to care. Very poor training. I feel sorry for the “sharing” girls next door as it’s very awkward. I’m an Accor Plus member and stay frequently but I won’t rejoin I’m so cranky.

stayed at this hotel on the last weekend in February 2024. While the rooms were clean and tidy they're definitely not worth the price tag they add to this hotel. More of a best western on steroids. Staff are so keen to get out of the place that restaurants and bars are geared to pensioners that like to get to bed by 7:30pm. rather than run on reduced staffing levels to save costs and stay open later, everything closes instead. check in with angry staff is a terrible welcome. we won't be going back.

Wasn’t great. Was ok to oversee a handful of small issues with the service and the rooms. Broken and mouldy blinds, general cleanliness and the numerous attempts to contact room service, service desk, and also housekeeping. Several attempts to contact rang through with no answer on three separate occasions during our stay. We got the impression of major understaffing leading to these issues. Day we flew in wanted to arrange room service (open till 8) at 6:30 and was told it was closed after having to walk down to service desk after no phones were being answered. These things can happen but there was no attempts in offering any other solutions for us. (Staff seemed stressed) Thought we’d buy breakfast on the last day and was charged 6 rather than the 2. Not even sure how they made that mistake. Didn’t realise after settling the bill. Tried to pay cash but they don’t accept that so paid on the card. Thought it may have been overcharged and when we checked, realised it was after paying. Asked to refund the overpayment and they said they can’t do it there and would need to send an email through to fill out paperwork etc. Apart from that hassle in itself, our stay was a few weeks ago and we are still waiting for the email and follow up and subsequent refund, even after contacting them again with no response. I wouldn’t be writing the review if they had followed up in a realistic time frame. Maybe admin will see this review and get back to us? We love kingscliff but we’ll stay elsewhere next time.
