Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Recent Stay at Peppers Salt Resort and Spa Kingscliff Dear to who it may concern I hope you are well. I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my recent stay at Peppers Salt Resort and Spa Kingscliff, as my experience fell significantly short of the high standards I expected. Firstly, upon arrival, I was met with an unwelcoming reception. The manager at the front desk appeared disinterested and inattentive, prioritising his computer work over acknowledging or assisting me. I had to ask if he was available to help, which made me feel more like an inconvenience than a valued guest. Secondly, the condition of my room (4307-308) was unacceptable. It was excessively dusty, with dust covering the walls and surfaces. Additionally, I found hair left in the shower and bath, which raised concerns about the overall cleanliness and housekeeping standards. I really hope you can change the culture of the staff, as this was a less-than-desirable stay for us. Their job is to provide customer service, and I’m sorry to say that it fell well short of expectations. I trust that you will address these issues to ensure future guests do not encounter a similar experience. I would appreciate a response outlining the steps you intend to take to improve both service quality and cleanliness at the resort. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

The hotel is in fantastic location. We stayed in a private pool room. It was nice but quite run down, it definitely needs a makeover. The receptionist that checked us in and out was very rude to be honest. On departure, I was on my own with my 2 year old daughter in a pram. I asked where the trolleys to load out bags on were. She said they are scattered throughout the hotel and there were only 4 in total. There was no offer of assistance (from both staff behind the desk). It took me 4 loads to & from my room to the basement where my car was with my 2 year old in a pram.

I've stayed in a few five star resorts. There's no way this is a five star resort. Cons: - Ran out of towels on a Saturday. Couldn't go for a swim. Never seen that before at a resort. - Bikes in bad shape. Gears don't work, nobody checking them. Just thrown in the corner and forgotten about. - Our room faced the carpark. Homeless guy living in his van 2m outside our room. - Evacuation false alarms going off all night waking our baby. - Staff look miserable. Everybody looking like they hate working there. - Rooms dated. I've never slept in a bed that made snapping and popping sounds which sounded like it was about to collapse when you rolled over. We tried to remain completely still. - Room service menu didn't work. Errors. Pros: Buffet breakfast was great. Location very good. Pool is nice, but impossible to get a seat during the day.

We have been coming to this “resort” for many years. It has definitely slipped in standards. You could eat at night time around the pool in a lovely setting and there was a proper bar to get drinks also at nighttime. No more lovely dinners around the pool the restaurant is only open a couple of night a week. We had a “family room” ad we were with two grandchildren. There was not a proper connecting door you had to go through two doors which is not suitable for young children. This meant we had to have a grandchild in each room meaning one adult in each room sharing either a child. If you have a proper interconnected door we would only have to have opened it up. One of the rooms had popcorn all over the floor and chewing gum on the chair! Toilet was leaking badly as was the shower. It definitely needs a makeover and staff that don’t ignore you when you’re at the reception desk having a chat amongst themselves. Maybe if you employed grown up’s instead of teenagers things would improve. I note someone mentioned that they had no towels this also happened to us the response was there would not be any until the next day! Again this is supposed to be 5 star and the price reflects this but the place doesn’t. Management need to have a good hard look at these reviews and see that there is a serious problem.

A good stay overall, during the busy mid January time. A few oddities with checkin and room servicing. Quite limited meal options at the hotel but adjacent to restaurant precinct with plenty of options. 150m walk to the patrolled beach but the pool is the centre of this resort. Nice pool area but very popular and hard to find a shaded spot after 10am. Would be much nicer out of high season.
