a 5 star "staycation" in Sydney for me and my partner on our anniversary. The room was tidy and modern with a beautiful bathtub. However, I feel like it was a bit small for the price we paid. Included in our stay was the "Club Millésime" package which included afternoon tea after you check in and pre-dinner food and drinks. It was a very nice touch to the stay. I must flag that there was a lot of construction going on around the hotel which did ruin some of the views, particularly when we were getting massages downstairs at the spa. I feel like the hotel should discount rates because of this. Aside from that, it was a pleasant stay. I would like to stay here again in a larger room when there is no construction going on.

Great location — right next to the Convention Centre light rail, and nice view from our room but that’s about all the positives. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to what you’d expect from a five-star hotel. We’re Accor Gold members and have honestly had much better service at smaller hotels that cost half the price. When you stay somewhere like this, you expect the service to match the five-star label, but it just didn’t. Instead of a welcome note & complimentary bottle of wine (which we’ve received at the cheaper Accor hotels), we got a knock on the door with a welcome note and two tiny bottles of sparkling water — something most hotels leave by the bed daily for free. They delivered it like it was a special gesture, which really missed the mark. The pool area was also a bit underwhelming — the water was cold, there’s not much shade, and the view isn’t quite as good as the photos online. Service at the pool bar was poor too; the staff were unfriendly and disinterested. One bartender gave me attitude when I asked her for a specific glass, and I overheard another waitress speaking a little rudely to a guest. Something just seems off with the staff culture here — that warmth and professionalism you’d expect from a five-star property was really missing. While the location and room view were lovely, the overall experience just wasn’t worth it. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We had an exceptional stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully presented, with every little detail thoughtfully arranged. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I loved the modern amenities. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and great service.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sofitel Darling Harbour — three nights initially, then another two after a short trip to the Hunter Valley. From start to finish, everything was seamless and genuinely warm. A huge thank you to Madeline, Philip, Annalisa, and the entire Club Millésime team — every single one of them was professional, attentive, and made me feel so well taken care of. The service via the WhatsApp concierge was especially impressive — quick, thoughtful, and always on point. The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained. No matter what time I returned, the room was always refreshed and perfectly made up — something that’s easy to take for granted but really stood out here. Food and drinks at the Club Millésime lounge were excellent — high quality, varied, and served with genuine hospitality. All in all, Sofitel Darling Harbour really delivers the perfect mix of comfort, class, and care. I’ll definitely be returning!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Exceptional Stay at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour Our stay at the Sofitel in Sydney, Darling Harbour was nothing short of amazing. The hotel truly is second to none — from the stunning pool area and state-of-the-art gym, to our beautiful room and the exceptional service throughout. I loved the self check-in process — so seamless and modern. The lobby was stunning, the location unbeatable, and every facility was immaculate. I honestly cannot fault a single thing. What really stood out was the level of service. Each day, after we’d head out to explore, our room was beautifully refreshed, and then again before we returned in the afternoon — such attention to detail! The hotel’s location made it so easy to get around — walking distance to the city, Chinatown, and even a short Uber ride anywhere else. I even managed to fit in a few sessions at Snap Fitness in Pyrmont, and one morning walked back from breakfast at Bill’s in Surry Hills with ease. Sydney will always have my heart, and Sofitel Darling Harbour made this visit truly special. I wish our stay could have been longer. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again. Thank you to the incredible Sofitel team for a flawless experience. 💫
