The hotel itself is lovely, in a great location with very helpful staff. Our room key card though stopped working within 2hours of arriving. The pool would have been stunning place to relax had it not been for the full blown construction site directly below. The noise was absurdly loud, cranes constantly moving and works ongoing. Would have been great to know this prior to booking as would have booked elsewhere for sure. Was a disappointing factor of a 5* hotel and definitely below expectations.
It was a wonderful girls trip with my two young daughters. Philip welcomed us warmly and gifted my girls two joey's, that was such a special way to start our time there. Although the pool was cold, it was fun with a great view. The breakfast was lovely, especially with all the variety for us all! The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable with a great view.
I do not recommend Sofitel. We checked in yesterday for a business trip and, unfortunately, it was a terrible experience overall. The first room we were given was uncomfortably hot, and despite setting the air conditioning to the lowest temperature with the fan on maximum speed, it did not cool the room. To make matters worse, the room was positioned directly under the sun, making the room even hotter. When I raised this with the check-in staff, I was told that no other rooms were available, and a refund wasn’t possible due to the terms of our booking. It was only after speaking with the manager that we were offered a room on the opposite side of the hotel, which was cooler. However, this came at an additional cost for the same room type, just with a different view, which felt unreasonable. The manager was able to refund the rest of the nights and we could then cut our stay short in order to secure alternative accommodation. By the time the situation was resolved, it was almost 6pm, and despite the inconvenience, no offer was made to waive the extra charge for changing rooms with a total cost landing close to $600 for a one night stay. The one positive aspect of our stay was the buffet breakfast. Ultimately, we chose to book the remainder of our trip at the W Hotel nearby, where the experience was far better—most importantly with working AC and an overall more comfortable stay. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Sofitel, especially for businesses who are looking to place staff or clients in comfortable accomodations for their travel.
Arrived at 2pm, room was not ready. Enjoyed our complimentary drinks at the bar which kept us busy until our room was ready. Room was clean, comfortable with good views of the city. Paid for breakfast buffet, very enjoyable. Checkout was easy and the porters were very helpful assisting us with our luggage
The service from the team on level 35 is outstanding. Cannot be faulted. The rooms are also fantastic with stunning views. Couple of consistent issues is the housekeeping. It’s simply just that inconsistent. The maintenance of the rooms can also be an issue. Oh and don’t forget to get your bill before you leave. You’ll be on the phone forever trying to get in touch with someone to get a copy of you need it.
