Reviews for Shangri-La Sydney

A great view from the bed on the 32nd floor over Sydney Harbour. Breakfast is recommended very early around 7:00am to see the sunrise over the harbour. Staff is very friendly. All our special requests were fulfilled. The rooms are in good condition and offer everything you need. The minibar is very well stocked. The spa leaves a lot to be desired. The paint is peeling from the ceiling and does not invite you to stay comfortably!

We didn’t stay so didn’t see the rooms, however, we did the day spa (massage and facial) along with the high tea and it was exceptional. The massage was wonderful and the food delicious. Our package did come with full access to the facilities and we weren’t aware (despite arriving 30 minutes early) so we missed this opportunity. Would have loved to have utilised this if we’d known - especially as it’s not cheap! Fabulous day regardless!

Nice hotel - Picking up from COVID times. Service may improve further - Was asked we should know how much daily / room security deposite should be at reception because we stay here regularly!!!!! No we don't!😊 Room make up team left dirty cups in room ( I guess should have been replaced ) else all was good - we were given high floor and room cleanliness was top class.

It was OK. The rooms are pretty good. The service was not very good. The location was whatever. I’m not really happy with the hotel. I expected a lot more from Sydney. I heard very good reviews especially on Google maps. But this was not it. If you’re looking for a hotel for your family vacation, I recommend going somewhere else. Not that it’s terrible but…yeah.

An unfortunately disappointing experience. When we checked in we had booked an opera house view room. We were told we had been “upgraded” in room types only to find out we were overlooking the highway. When we asked for our original booked room, the front desk said the hotel was full and they couldn’t give it to us. We stayed one of four nights but decided we wanted to check out and move elsewhere. That was a whole other story (multiple hours to check out) but the less said the better. I will say I have stayed there in the past and if you can get the room you book… then it’s another story entirely.
