Really lovely hotel in the heart of the marina precinct. I can't star the rooms 5* as the cabinet in there did not allow me to open the drawer and was extremely old. They don't work and need replacing. Aside from that the hotel is in a great location, very clean. Great showers!

An incredible experience… wonderful location, views and facilities. The staff are happy and appear to be valued, which always says a lot about any hotel. Incredibly clean with luxurious bedding, towels and robes. Felt really spoilt, brilliant value for money!

We had a lovely stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel. We had the Executive Marina view room and the view was magnificent. The Hotel is in the perfect location within walking distance to the cruise terminal and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The pool was lovely and clean with lots of seating available. The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble.

We had a wonderful stay here. I read the reviews thoroughly before we came and , perhaps we were lucky but did not encounter the problems encountered. Ok, except for the pool barman who's manner was so lacking in any friendliness it was almost laughable. 1. Dirty carpets were mentioned...well they were being professionally cleaned while we there. 2. Bathrooms also got complaints.. ours was lovely and probably revamped in the past 3 years 3. Apart from the pool barman the service was friendly and welcoming . Doorman , from England, when we arrived was really good as was our check in. Yes, there are some mould stains high up on the building which we saw on other hotels.... probably due to the climate. Location was fantastic and all 5 local restaurants we went to, along the waterfront, were very good. Tamarind at the Casino was tops though. We would definitely stay here again...and again with water views. Ours overlooked sea and the town and gave us magic sunsets

I cannot fathom how this hotel has been rated 5*. If it had been rated 3* and priced accordingly, we wouldn’t have been so disappointed - or booked this place for our honeymoon at all. The only saving grace was that the staff were lovely, friendly and courteous - they do a great job in a poorly managed hotel. * the cupboard doors were loose in the room and the carpet was curling up * the water pressure was terrible * the whole place is tired, messy and not entirely clean * the breakfast was limited, cold and poor quality - also doesn’t include coffee except the instant out of a machine * the sunbeds are all stained and the poolside tables were dirty, not cleaned overnight and the ladder in the pool is broken (could cause injury) * there’s no service (staff) anywhere - not at the pool, not at breakfast * the WiFi is slow and intermittent - no connection at all by the pool * the towels in the room and at the pool were small - like motel towels, not a 5* hotel Overall, we were really looking forward to the 5* Shangri-La experience for our honeymoon, and felt we could have got better at the Holiday Inn.
