Reviews for Oaks Port Douglas Resort

This was a nice place with beautiful gardens, pool and amenities. Breakfast was included and was adequate with hot and continental choices. The restaurant over the pond was closed during our visit, which is where breakfast is usually served. Our main criticism was the noise at night. The walls are thin, and we heard our noisy neighbours banging dishes and talking at all hours. We stayed 3 nights, and every night, we were awakened at least twice by loud banging somewhere nearby. Not sure of the source. We would stay here again but ask for a room that wasn't connected to another room. Our balcony was private. Food from the pool area was tasty but my nachos was presented in a cardboard box and was stuck to the paper at the bottom making some of it inedible. Prices for food and drink weren't cheap but comparable with other venues. Lots of eaties and a supermarket just a short drive away.

Nice resort, we stayed 1 night in low season, so it was pretty quiet. Nice pool, buffet breakfast was decent. Room was big and AC worked well. Reception staff helpful. Free parking. Fairly close to town, you can easily ride a bike or scooter in along the cycle/walk path.

We were so excited for our trip over this past weekend. The photos of the oaks look incredible online but we were sadly disappointed with our stay. Rooms are nice but resort is outdated and not well maintained. My wife and I have come back home with bites all over us from the bedbugs which we found the morning later. We notified the staff and they didn't do anything about it. I don't often review stays but this was one of the worst stays we have had.

Rooms are a little dated but still good. Restaurant menu is very limited, and the buffet breakfast isn't anything to write home about. A good value overall, as they're not as expensive as most resorts. Not having any WiFi is a puzzle (especially as the "in room dining" is a QR code website). WiFi antennas are dotted around the place so I guess they haven't been fixed in some years. The staff we've met have been very friendly and the resort is only a 2 min drive from the main street.

A tropical oasis. The lovely Ginny welcomed us at reception today and we were greeted with such kindness. Her help really made our day! Our family had such a relaxing time at this resort. Thanks a lot. We’ll be back!
