Do not stay here if you value your sleep. They have booked a Brazilian band that’s playing at a level outside that is making sleep impossible. They said they can’t tell them to turn in down because they’ve booked the space until 10:45pm. So they are willing to compromise the peace and quiet of all their hotel guests for an event. Room service arrived cold and missing an item. Beds are comfortable but that’s kind of irrelevant if the music is so loud that it prevents sleep anyway

Our arrival at Rydges was frustrating right from the start. No trolleys for our luggage, a painfully slow check-in process despite checking in online, and then searching for parking only to find the adjacent lot full. We needed a code for parking from the front desk which we weren't given, leading to a stressful moment with the boom gate narrowly missing our car. Eventually parked a block away and lugged all our bags back. On entry to our room we discovered the shower head kept falling down. On several attempts and a bit of a struggle we finally managed to get it back in place. Breakfast the next morning was quite disappointing. Despite the advertised hours of 6:30am to 10:30am, we found a lack of options on our arrival at 9am. We inquired about more bacon and eggs but received nothing until after a long wait. Finally, a bowl of bacon was brought to us, but still no eggs, leaving us confused and unsatisfied with the dining experience. It felt unorganized and certainly didn’t meet our expectations for a good start to the day. For the amount of money paid we expected a whole lot more, come on Rydges.

[1] Unfortunately the lady at reception when we checked in made a mistake and i ended up being charged an extra $53 on top of the already high parking fee for one night! (Thankfully I was reimbursed some money but not until I had to stress out and call them about it). [2] our room smelt like someone had just taken a number 2 in the toilet when we first entered the room! [3] we found a sharp piece of plastic in the sheets of one of the beds! [4] the bin had no bag and it became a nuisance dealing with rubbish, we had bags of our own so we made do but it bothered me after '2 & 3'. [5] there was a large amount of some kind of fibres and dust the continually fell from the ventilation in the bathroom the entire time we were there! Location was great, staff were polite, and the buffet was incredible. Its just not a place I would recommend unless these problems we had were guaranteed not to happen again. Came across as lacking and possibly dangerous and unhealthy. To the RYDGES HOTEL FORTITUDE VALLEY I would seriously consider reaching out to me and working something out regarding our experience and putting more effort in at reception checking and room safety and cleanliness. I'm yet to see the return on my deposit for the room and will write another review after that or amend this one if the hotel contacts me to discuss this. As always I am transparent and honest. People make mistakes but this was a lot to try ignore.

Positive points: The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. Negative point #1: Housekeeping entered my room without knocking or announcing themselves. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and was a serious breach of privacy. Negative point #2: Check-in time was scheduled for 7:00 AM, but by 7:45 AM, the room was still not ready. This delay was inconvenient, especially after a long journey. That said, the hotel offered a late checkout as a gesture of goodwill for the delayed room readiness, which was appreciated.

Most comfortable bed ever, so good you can buy them. Staff were so friendly and helpful Best location if attending conferences at the convention centre. Just accross the road.
