Where do I begin! Firstly, thank you to Carlo, Pauli and Trudi. The kindest, most accommodating staff I have met on my trip. I couldn't have asked for a better trip. I travelled with the Spirit family on Wednesday and I am so happy I did. These guys made me feel not like a customer, but a guest on their boat. Even going out of there way to follow a pod of dolphins as I had mentioned it was all I had dreamed to see (strange request for a whale watching cruise) but as soon as they spotted them they decided to go off course just for me, this made my day and I am so grateful. Keep on doing what you're doing guys because you are amazing. People will forget what you said, or even forget what you did but they will never forget how you made them feel! Thank you so much Spirit family. I will never forget my time with you ❤️

Personal whale watching tour without the hundreds of people cramped onto a boat (cough Seaworld cough). Very knowledgeable Captain who talks you through the experience. The kids loved it but the 3 year old got sea sick and the crew were amazing and provided sick bags and helped with the clean up. Even with that it was a wonderful experience and one we will remember. We would not hesitate to use Spirit of Gold Coast whale watching again!

Ive been on a few different boats and had different crowds, i found it difficult to get photos and see the action, thankfully a lovely lady let me in to take a turn at the back of the boat, a lot of kids struggling to see with all the tall adults at the front - it really depends on the crowd you get sometimes! Which makes me wonder if there is better boat designs for whale watching. The crew, super amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. The trip itself and cruise was as perfect as whale watching can be with wild animals!

The experience was wonderful and the whales were spectacular, however, I am not fully satisfied with the company itself. The first thing that caught my eye was the fuel-powered engine. As for watching the whales (which are in fact such gentle and vulnerable creatures), I believe the company (as well as the Aussie government I guess) should be more responsible. Apart from the dark grey smoke coming out from the boat, you could even smell the burning fuel from time to time depending on the direction of the wind. When I went whale watching in Kaikoura New Zealand, the boat that took us to see the whales was electric and was running by sucking the water and pushing the boat forward, causing no harm for the environment. Here it was less environmentally friendly. Another thing that upset me was the boarding pictures. Before boarding the boat, everyone took a photo in front of the boat. After the whale watch, ALL those pictures were printed on paper and displayed for sale. The card price was $30, so many people simply passed, because the picture were not worth that price. Thus those photos that were not purchased will go to waste, which is a crazy waste of paper... why not let people choose from digital version first, and then, if requested, print it? I will not go with Spirit whale watch anymore, I will try to be a little more attentive next time and do more research about the company...

The boat is large with food and toilets aboard. They know where they whales are during whale season so as long as you don't have jet skis nearby you should see some whales. It was the least expensive tour we saw in the entire area and one of the few that allowed us to bring our 4 year old. This boat had plenty of good narration, easy enough views of the wild life (though you might have to move around a bit to get a good view at times) and as a larger boat probably less impacted by waves. Definitely a great thing to do in the winter months. If you are bringing kids recommend this companybas you get significant savings on the little ones where other companies still charge basically full price for even a 5 year old since that boat might only hold 12 people or so.
