This is an older hotel so don’t expect 5* Rooms as they are in the process of being renovated and updated but still amazing to be right in the middle of the city and right at your doorstep is Rundle Mall! The service is 2nd to none and all the staff are friendly reliable and professional! Great for functions and birthdays and staff parties! 🎉 Always remember to take a moment for the manager at the front desk! Michelle is outstanding considering her role(s). Enjoy a wonderful night or day or few hours at the amazing Hotel 🏨 Richmond! Unbelievable!

We had a group booking of 8 for my birthday dinner. I’m not sure if we just came on a bad night based on all the great reviews, but we certainly didn’t have the outstanding experience others have mentioned. Food tasted good, no issues there. Service was less than acceptable. There were minimal other diners in the restaurant so can’t take a busy night into consideration. When ordering, staff were talking amongst themselves before they decided to serve us. One commented “I’ve already worked 10 hours, what’s another few” another commented she was new. The male taking our order had no idea what the menu offered. He asked “barramundi…that’s the same as fish and chips right? The other lady serving asked the complete opposite question, “you want fish and chips…that’s the barramundi isn’t it?” My MIL ordered a lemonade, which never arrived. She had to go up 20 mins later to find out where it was. That’s when the lady apologized saying she was new. Half the tables main courses came out before the entree arrived. When I questioned to the waitress she said, “your entrees are still being processed darling” Please don’t call me darling. All but two meals came out. Some had finished their meal, and the last two were still waiting. I went up to find out where the food was. They brought them out about 5 mins later. When I’m paying $48 for a steak, I expect it be brought out with all the other meals. And if there’s a problem in the kitchen, I expect some form of recompense - which sadly was not offered. Not even a free drink for the two that had to rush through their meal to catch up. I’m really sorry but we won’t be returning.

Had a really enjoyable stay. Great central location. Room very spacious and clean. Staff filled you in with everything and signage was great so didn't have any lingering questions about checkout, finding staff if have any issues, out of hours etc. Felt it was run really well.

Would recommend if you want a clean, quiet room in a central location in Adelaide. Although the hotel isn’t state of the art by any means the rooms are simple, well maintained, comfortable and have all the basic amenities you need. We were worried it would be loud due to its location but this wasn’t the case. Michelle in reception was bubbly and accommodating. At one stage we even left our key in our room after hours on a Sunday and within 5 mins security was there to assist us with a smile. Super affordable too!

Public service announcement- do not book any special functions at The Richmond in Rundle Mall... I am unsure if there has been a change in management because years ago they were decent, but do not bother now. My niece's recent birthday event was a huge disappointment catering-wise - catering charged at $35 per head for cocktail, and six people didn't make it, yet there still wasn't enough food to go around and multiple people left without eating! 6 platters of food served to feed 33 people, which amounted to about $200 per platter for mini hot dogs and pizzas etc. Ran out of Corona 1.5hrs into a 3 hr drink package and it wasn't until we complained several times they went and found more out the back. Unprofessional staff member caught eating food off one of the platters! Multiple issues which have been communicated to their events team but The Richmond are not offering any sort of recompense and are "saddened by the news we didn't enjoy ourselves". It appears they have blocked me on Facebook as well after I complained, so I am unable to leave a direct review on their page. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND BOOK YOUR PARTY ELSEWHERE
