The Honest Diner
Seriously good food...and seriously good cocktails! There was a large group of us, so we did the "feed me" option for $79. Everything that landed was delicious. Perhaps the portion sizing was a little on the smaller side, but the quality of the food/dishes was very good. Their wine list is small, but in fairness, it is a distillery. The cocktails we drank were some of the best I've had!

Elle was amazing (girl with red hair, hope that’s her name), great service, so friendly & apologetic for delays with drink orders we placed. Guy with American accent who said normally doesn’t work there (sorry didn’t catch his name) he was also lovely & great service. Girl with brown hair pulled back, tattoos (sorry didn’t catch her name) terrible service. Extremely rude, bad attitude & can tell she doesn’t enjoy her job. Food - Really disappointing, it had a lot of bread, whilst the sides & additions to the bread were nice, each course had so much bread. 1st course bread & hard cheese, 2nd course bread & whipped cheese, 3rd course scallops with bread crumbs, 4th course bread with egg & kale, 5th course bread with mince meat & cheese. Drinks - the bottomless limoncello was not nice, very average & hard to drink. We ordered other drinks in addition to balance out the taste but unfortunately those additional drinks took ages to come out. They were super busy but the whole experience was quite average. If not for Elle’s awesome service we would have made a complaint but otherwise people need to know paying $69 pp the menu needs bread cut down & limoncello cocktail needs some spruce. Cutlery, drinks on table on arrival, space was visually nice but the food & drinks need some work. I love carbs but the food was nothing like what was on Instagram, Insta bottomless brunch didn’t show the excessive serves of bread & less of everything else.

Went here for drinks and a bite to eat the other night and loved it. We ate: - Affettati Misti which had a fantastic range of foods on it including salumi, prosciutto, capocolla and Mozzarella. One of our favourite dishes, so fresh. - Calamari Fritti - Polpettine which is Pork and Porcini Meatballs. This tasted amazing amd loved the sauce with it. - Arrosticini Lamb Skewers which had great flavours to it. - Tiramisu Al Limone which was a very generous serving size and had a beautiful lemon flavour to it They also have a great Gin Tree we purchased where they have 4 different gins, perfect for the Gin lover. The service was nice here as well and it has a lovely area inside or undercover outdoor areas. Will go back here to eat, drink and chill out again.

I recently dined at Ambra and had a truly disappointing experience. To start, the food was terrible, with portions so small that we left feeling hungry. We ordered the kingfish, and what was served to us was a raw piece of fish with an awful appearance that looked like it had blood on it—turns out it was beetroot. When we asked the staff about it, they explained that the menu stated the fish was "crudo," which means raw in Italian. However, we are in Australia, and not everyone understands Italian. It would have been helpful if they clarified that on the menu. We politely asked if they could cook the fish, but they flatly refused. Adding to the frustration, the timing of the service was appalling. The dishes did not come out together; there was a half-hour gap between the first and last plates. Our friends had already finished eating, and we were still waiting for our food. When it finally arrived, it was cold. Overall, it was a very bad experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place—don’t waste your money and time.
