We gave the Mess Hall another go recently and found it a much better experience. The staff who served us this time were super duper friendly and were able to enlighten me on the scent that I couldn’t identify from the previous visit. Turns out it’s just the smell of ancient history as the space has had a fascinating background all the way back to its heyday as a Masonic Hall. We tried the thick noodle dish again knowing it was a hit and also added a pad Thai upon recommendation. In keeping with the Thai theme we also went for the massman which we enjoyed from the original visit. i still really do love this spot for its sensational ambiance and would definitely take people here for drinks if I wanted to impress with a quirky Melbourne venue

Such a beautiful space, with great ambience. My wife, two children and I bought the bottomless dumplings menu 🥟🥟. We felt like the menu lacked variety, and ended up ordering the same dishes every round. I personally loved the shiitake mushroom dumplings! 🍄🟫 Our server was nice, but lost track of a couple things… However, for the price it is really good value! 💰

Great venue located in the heart of Brunswick. Amazing vibe as soon as you enter into the 'great hall' with an archway and lots of overhanging greenery. 2 seperate, small chill out areas on either side of entrance. I attended an event here yesterday and it was the perfect venue and created a warm atmosphere with lighting, projections and music. A well equipped bar and friendly staff, the finger food and grazing table provided was ok

All you can eat dumplings for $29? Yes please. Good value and the dumplings were actually tasty. Definitely would come back for this. Also drinks were good value too .
