What an excellent experience! Dining out with kids can be a nightmare and this was the complete and lose opposite experience of that! On a Wednesday evening we ventured to CB and with three children under 5 and 3 adults we had the most wonderful dinner. A few things lead to this experience. 1) mid week venture, so it wasn’t too busy which was PERFECT for us (and other diners, let’s be real) 2) the food was phenomenal - we ordered 13 items from the menu and every one was delicious (with one less impressive than others) 3) servers and hosts were hospitable and not too in our faces or space which allowed us to relax and enjoy the evening :) Overall the food was the biggest stand out. Absolutely try the lamb shoulder and the chicken, the kingfish and the tartare. The salad was simple but refreshing and the Korean style fried chicken was bang on! An absolute flavour explosion! The parfait was a fantastic finish to a beautifully rich and decadent feast! The only miss- the tofu dip. Texture was great but we found it lacked flavour - which when stacked against so many winners, was very obvious. We will 100% be back again! Thankyou so much!

Last night we had the pleasure of spending a magical evening at Captain Baxter, and I must say, it was an experience to remember! fantastic cocktails and breathtaking ocean view. The rooftop has an amaIng view! The combination of the ocean breeze, the sunset, and the live music created an ambiance that was nothing short of enchanting. It was the perfect setting for a memorable night out. I must give a special shoutout to Joel, who went above and beyond to make our night even more special. Not only did he provide exceptional service, but he also surprised us with two free drink passes! His friendly and attentive nature truly added to the overall positive experience. Great range of cocktails at Captain Baxter The live music was another highlight of the evening. The talented musicians created a vibrant atmosphere, filling the stunning surroundings. Overall, Captain Baxter exceeded all expectations. The combination of the breathtaking ocean view, fantastic cocktails, amazing live music, and friendly staff made for an unforgettable experience. I can confidently say that I will be returning to Captain Baxter in the future, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a magical night out in St Kilda, Melbourne. I’d go as far to say it’s the best bar in Melbourne! Fantastic drinks, good vibes and plenty of seating and space - you don’t feel like you’re crammed into a bar where you can’t hear yourself think! Beautiful views of the ocean and the staff are really nice. Didn’t try the food but it looks good!

I decided to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends (10) at the last minute, which isn’t smart considering it is in mid December. I e-mailed the CB team and they got back to me straight away with dates and times that were available. Communication was easy (via e-mail) and I always got quick responses which was great. The process was extremely easy and Amy & Ella, who helped organise the event, were lovely! Everything was seamless on the day and the staff were awesome. The cocktails were delicious (highly recommend the lychee martini) and so was the food. I would totally have another event at Captain Baxter! Thanks to Amy, Ella and James for making the afternoon as good as it was :)

Live acousic music on a hot day, great vibes. No complaints with the service However the margherita pizza tastes like it either it was 3D printed in plastic, or someone spray painted a picture of a pizza on a stale circular peice of bread. Vibes still kinda make it worth it for drinks and hanging out :) Excuse poor photo quality, one of my phones lenses are damaged.
