Great venue for a celebration, perfect location, good customer service when booking the table no need for deposit, easy ordering food and drinks don’t have to worry about splitting bills. Great vibe for dancing after dinner, good music a bit of everything. Will definitely be back.

This was our first time hosting the Hairhouse Northland Christmas party at Captain Baxter, and from start to finish, the experience was fantastic! Becky and Elise made everything effortlessly smooth compared to other venues we’ve used in the past. I recently celebrated my 30th birthday at Captain Baxter in their private dining room upstairs. The event team were outstanding right from the very start. I initially spoke with Ella and Becky who were able to provide me with all the various options, dining menus and venue arrangements so I could make the right decision for my event. Later on, I had the pleasure of liaising with Elise who is truly a star. She left no question unanswered, would consistently check in with me ahead of the event to make sure everything was ready to go and provided a lot of calmness to the chaos of event organising! Joel was our host for the day, he was truly fantastic and extremely organised on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly, and all the dietary requirements were correct. Joel has such great energy, incredible customer service and took a lot of stress out of my hands. The food was delicious, and atmosphere was next to none. We moved onto the balcony room after the brunch for some drinks and had a beautiful sunset. I'm so grateful for the CB team for supporting me with this event and no doubt I'll look to host another event here in the future!

What an excellent experience! Dining out with kids can be a nightmare and this was the complete and lose opposite experience of that! On a Wednesday evening we ventured to CB and with three children under 5 and 3 adults we had the most wonderful dinner. A few things lead to this experience. 1) mid week venture, so it wasn’t too busy which was PERFECT for us (and other diners, let’s be real) 2) the food was phenomenal - we ordered 13 items from the menu and every one was delicious (with one less impressive than others) 3) servers and hosts were hospitable and not too in our faces or space which allowed us to relax and enjoy the evening :) Overall the food was the biggest stand out. Absolutely try the lamb shoulder and the chicken, the kingfish and the tartare. The salad was simple but refreshing and the Korean style fried chicken was bang on! An absolute flavour explosion! The parfait was a fantastic finish to a beautifully rich and decadent feast! The only miss- the tofu dip. Texture was great but we found it lacked flavour - which when stacked against so many winners, was very obvious. We will 100% be back again! Thankyou so much!
