We came for a catchup with friends and were delighted with the experience. We wish we could've extended for another night. Great location with excellent facilities, really helpful and friendly staff and a room upgrade to top it off. We will definitely come back again soon

Always enjoy staying at the Olsen (where I stay at least every fortnight for work). Location is excellent and rooms are very comfortable. Sill no charging ports which is annoying. And check in service could be friendlier

This was my second stay at The Olsen in South Yarra. The location is wonderful, with walking distance to great cafes, pubs, shops and the MCG. The beds are very comfortable and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The main areas are thoughtfully curated with artwork and subtle lighting. The only downfall is the bathrooms which are tired and in need of a revamp. They are clean but show wear. The lighting in the bathrooms is unusable for makeup application but the floor length mirrors in the bedrooms have ample light. The windows are desperately in need of a clean with grime and lots of bird droppings which impacts the great view of Chapel St. Overall I would stay here again and recommend to friends due to the location, it is superb and my favourite part of Melbourne.

I really enjoyed my stay. the hotel is welcoming from the moment you enter the glass doors. staff were very friendly and helpful. rooms super clean, good size, functional. I liked the balcony too. South Yarra is a fantastic area and the Olsen is perfectly located. loved the swimming pool.

The overall experience was disappointing from start to finish. Upon arrival, the staff appeared unkempt and lacked basic professionalism or courtesy, making the check-in process feel purely transactional rather than welcoming. There was no warmth, hospitality, or effort to make guests feel valued. This was particularly frustrating given my previous interactions with the property, which had already left me unimpressed. Unfortunately, the in-person experience only reinforced my concerns. The room itself was in need of maintenance and refurbishment. The shower had an overwhelming, unpleasant stench, making it uncomfortable to use. Additionally, the basin was visibly peeling, adding to the overall sense of disrepair. Considering the nightly rate for the F1 weekend exceeded $750, the level of service and quality fell far below expectations. At this price point, guests should expect a well-maintained room, professional staff, and a seamless, enjoyable stay. Instead, the experience felt like a complete letdown, failing to justify the premium pricing.
