An inconspicuous door in an otherwise ordinary lane leads you up some stairs into Nick & Nora's. The art deco speak-easy designed with a bar backed by an extensive botte range of whiskeys. It's not limited to the whiskey finatics but also an assortment of creative cocktails, beers & wine. The $5 happy hour bubbles started our night off. I then went for an adventure in their whiskey app to find my dram. Meanwhile my companion ventured into the cocktails. The service from Andrew, Charlotte & Connor was friendly and enthusiastic. They were knowledgable for what they served. I even challenged them to find me a dram within some criterion, to which their selection was delightful and delicious. Highly recommended if you're in Melbourne and want to chill with a beverage and easy relaxation.

One of my favourite bars in Melbourne — it’s always lively, so it’s best to make a reservation in advance. The drink menu is quite unique. I like the cheese and meat board, though the baby octopus was just average. I also ordered cocktails named “Kyoto” and “Asa Akira,” served in bamboo and panda-shaped glasses. I do wish they wouldn’t label them with Japanese names, as these elements are representations of Chinese culture. Other than that, everything was great.

If you are looking for a place to go in Melbourne for whiskey, bubbles or cocktails, I highly recommend Nick and Nora’s . Walked in and seated quickly , we started off with happy hour bubbles, sat back and enjoyed the speakeasy’s vibe. My friend, a whiskey die hard discussed drams with a knowledgeable Andrew who steered into making choices which left her very happy. I tried a delightful mocktail lady lust, smoky and sweet then ventured into a fantastic recommendation by Charlotte to try Wendy’s scope with the completed magic at the table and made perfectly by Connor. Hot Camembert went well with our drinks. Great service, great drinks a great night. We will be back next time we are in Melbourne.

Cute cocktail bar to venture to in the city. Staff were really helpful with the extensive cocktail menu. Food was delightful. Our visit was a rainy Sunday evening, no reservation required. But I imagine Friday’s and Saturday’s might be worth booking.
