Centrally located within walking distance to shops and restaurants, modern spacious interior, and great amenities such as a gym, heated indoor pool and sauna. One of the best equipped places for longer stays because of all the inclusions, plus the rooms are serviced apartment style so have everything you need to cook. Only drawback is room service is every third day so you might build up a bit of rubbish if you're cooking before it gets taken out.

I've stayed twice at the Meriton suites, both times in a one bedroom apartment. In both cases the apartment itself was very comfortable. They are quite spacious, and had good facilities (oven, microwave, hob). If self-catering you will need to bring the basics (e.g. oil). The apartment comes with a balcony, and how nice this is highly dependent on which side of the building you are. In one it had an okay view, got some sun and was quiet. In the other, the view was of a construction site and I was woken up daily by the work. This is detailed on the website and earplugs were provided, unfortunately the work was loud even through earplugs. The apartment includes a washing machine and dryer, which was extremely useful. The staff at reception were lovely and helpful. You can ask for refills of provided products (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, washing liquid, coffee etc.). The location is great: a 5 minute walk to the shopping centre, a 10 minute walk to a massive lake, 20 minutes to lots of restaurants / street food stalls. One thing to note if travelling abroad, there is a surcharge for using a card (debit or credit) and you cannot use cash. The rate is on the website but cannot be avoided if using a foreign card.

The suites are great for a family and if you are staying for a while. It has all the necessities but not really suited for business people as the rooms are not serviced and there are no eating facilities. Had to go out and buy breakfast supplies. My room was facing the construction site, so it was not only noisy from 7am but lights were on 24/7 so it was difficult to sleep with all the light coming in. Wouldn't stay again and told my work not to book me there if in Canberra again.

I’ve traveled quite a bit for work and usually stick with Meriton because I trust the brand. This was my second time staying at this location in the ACT, but unfortunately, it’ll be my last. The room itself was okay, and the location is really convenient! The only downside was the service. Honestly, the service here was REALLY disappointing; I’ve never experienced such a lack of effort before, and it definitely wasn’t what I expected from Meriton. Canberra has ample choices in the same price range with much better service.

It was raining heavily so I went straight to the parking lot to be told the car park is a separate company to meriton so I would have to check in first. I had to try find a park in the cbd which was very difficult, and not close to the hotel. Soaking wet, I asked the receptionist if she could check me in & organise parking- she wasn't overly friendly & directed me to a qr code to pay $32 for parking which took 10 mins. Then I still couldn't get in or out of the car park (supposed to be plate recognition). The most ridiculous system I have encountered at a hotel so won't stay again! The apartment was fine, a bit sterile but there were earplugs & a note next to the bed saying we have noisy neighbours (construction site). Luckily I left early before they started work. Also, they wanted a $400 bond to borrow hair straighteners & no robes provided even though the website has photos of them. Plus side- the pool & gym were pretty good but there's much better in Canberra
