Stayed here for a long weekend over Easter with extended family across rooms & had a special birthday dinner for our mum/nana. It was magical. Perfect for us for the weekend away. Pool was beautiful & great for the kids, dinner & wine list lovely, staff extremely helpful. Absolutely stunning grounds. The bar was also excellent. I don’t often write reviews but would recommend - especially for families.
It’s a lovely spot, great place and has a grandeur to it. We do expect a bit more for nearly $500 a night though. The room was pretty average, and outside the reception and public areas there’s a lot of wallpaper coming off walls and signs of ageing amenities. No air con in the room we were in and had to ask for a fan (which they provided). Staff were cheerful enough and happy to help when asked but you will have to haul your own luggage in, there’s no door service or concierge. The spa was closed when we were there, we tried the pool, it’s beautiful but being indoors is like 34 degrees in the there so lap swimming is more like a hot jacuzzi :-) the grounds are lovely for a walk around and note it’s a few km from town so taxis needed if you are having a glass of wine or two.
We felt like we were staying in an English country mansion. The old house and grounds were beautiful. The rooms were really comfortable and huge, but looked old - not to worry, the manager told us they are being refurbished a few at a time this winter. Definately worth staying there if you want the feeling of an English counrty estate. We will go back for sure.
I had an extremely disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. I checked in on 21/2/2025 around 3:40 PM and was met with unfriendly staff who didn’t provide clear directions to my room. Upon entering the Forest Suite, I was immediately hit with an overpowering smell of vomit and old, mouldy carpet. The room was far from what I expected from a five-star establishment. I politely requested a downgrade to a smaller room with the price that i already paid, explaining that the smell was unbearable for me and my friend, but the staff informed me that the hotel was fully booked and offered no alternative solutions. They said a cleaner would come with air freshener, but after waiting for half an hour, no one showed up. Given the poor condition of the room and lack of service, we had no choice but to check out just 40 minutes after arrival. The offer that we recieved when we checked-out is the dinner voucher which we politely declined, and we never asked for money refunded. This experience was a far cry from the standard of service I expected, and frankly, it was disappointing to encounter such neglect at a supposedly high-end hotel. If the management is serious about maintaining their reputation and ensuring customer satisfaction, they need to invest in proper room maintenance and staff training. I ended up staying at another hotel with excellent service, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. It’s a shame to have such a poor experience, especially when I had high hopes for my stay.
As a Fine Art Wedding Photographer, I absolutely loved shooting a garden wedding at Milton Resort and Spa. This venue is a hidden gem nestled in the picturesque Southern Highlands, exuding romantic charm at every turn. With crisp air and pristine blue skies, the atmosphere was simply enchanting. The stunning grounds, characterized by vibrant gardens and historic architecture, made for a visually captivating backdrop that perfectly complemented the couple’s love story. My deluxe garden room provided a serene retreat, allowing me to truly immerse myself in the beauty surrounding me. Strolling through the beautifully manicured grounds, I couldn't help but feel inspired by the beautiful setting. The intimate pool room and inviting accommodations building added to the overall charm, creating a warm and welcoming vibe that made everyone feel at home. Milton Resort and Spa isn’t just a venue; it’s a dream destination for weddings. The blend of historic elegance and natural beauty offers endless possibilities for capturing breathtaking moments. It’s no wonder that this location is one of my favorite spots in Bowral. Every wedding here feels like a fairy tale, and I’m truly grateful to have the opportunity to document such special days in this idyllic setting.
