I emailed the facility a week from staying and was told a cot had been organised and was awaiting in the room allocated to myself and my family. Upon arrival I was initially met with a kind, warm, professional service which quickly changed once prompted staff about the cot missing from our room. It took 3 phone calls to reception to have this one issue resolved. When the cot was finally sent to the room i was told "You are okay to put this up yourself", no help offered despite making us wait over an hour for it to be delivered. None of the TVs in the room worked, when this issue was raised again to staff I was told "Yes we have been experiencing network complications and deeply apologise for this" however no resolution or compensation was offered. This was highly frustrating with three children unsettled without the option to put on the kids channels and get other unpacking or other tasks sorted. The rooms were unclean, untidy with rubbish from other persons stay still in the bins in our room. There was no iron but an ironboard in the room, the hot and cold water service was not working correctly and the showers were scalding. I had to personally hot spot my own data from my phone to make the TVs work as staff had no solutions. The main relaxed Shallows bar had mainly pizzas on the menu and didn't offer and nuggets or chips or other kid friendly services. The main indoor pool had minimal lighting and was very dark inside at night. It was a very disappointing stay as the facility charged nearly weekly worth of rent for one night stay and charged premium rates for no services or facilities to be working inside the room. Would not come back and stay again or recommend staying here.
Our stay at Pullman Magenta Shores Resort was nothing short of exceptional. A good point is that it's nestled between the beach and a stunning golf course, offering a peaceful escape that feels worlds away from the city. The villa-style accommodation had a spacious balcony with a relaxed coastal vibe that made us feel instantly at home. Waking up to the serene surroundings and fresh ocean air was a highlight in itself. The problems:- Amenities were very basic, the bathrobe was dirty wasn't clean or ironed. Bedsheets had spots, and pool towels had stained and we realised it when we opened them at the poolside. The facilities were fantastic—especially the lagoon-style pools, which were perfect for both relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. The direct beach access added to the experience, making it easy to enjoy long walks along the beautiful coastline. Food:- Delicious Pizza and, arancini and an amazing selection of cocktails and drinks. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, always ensuring everything ran smoothly. Dining at the resort was equally impressive, with delicious food and a great atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat, this resort ticks a few box.
We had high hopes for this stay but unfortunately it did not come close to matching the price or the five-star billing. The villa was poorly presented from the outset, dusty, unclean, and not up to the standard you would expect at this level. The pool area drains were covered in hair, the sauna was out of service with hazard tape around part of it, and the spa garden had packaging left on the floor with a sofa covered in dark hair. The window in our children’s bedroom would not close properly, which was a genuine safety concern we shouldn’t have had to raise. We flagged these issues at the front desk and the team member we dealt with was genuinely kind and tried his best. He arranged for us to view an alternative villa, which we appreciated, but relocating mid-stay with two young children simply wasn’t realistic. He also assured us a cleaner would attend our villa between 3:30 and 5pm. No cleaning had taken place when we returned. A $200 credit was offered. Given the extent of the issues across the entire stay, we didn’t feel this came close to reflecting what we experienced. The food also let us down. A cheese plate came out as a few cubes of orange cheese with what looked like leftover fruit from breakfast. On our final morning we arrived for breakfast, which was included in our package, and were told no table was available because a reservation was required for Mother’s Day. I had to point out that breakfast was part of our booking before we were seated, without much warmth, after an uncomfortable exchange to start what should have been a relaxed last morning. Since returning home I have emailed the property on several occasions and have not received a single response, which has honestly made the whole experience even more frustrating. I have photographs of everything mentioned and have now lodged a formal complaint. I wanted to share this so others can make an informed decision before booking.
very big unit, 3 bedroom. Very comfortable beds. Missing, some rugs, blanket, more cooking pots, door mats, broom, games, tea towls.. . Had to asked for more coffe pots, cups, glasses. Receptionist very polite & friendly. Pool & sauna & spa enjoyable. Located on a prestige beach.
Room 1605 was extremely disappointing and felt far more like a student share house than a five‑star villa. The walls were covered in scuff marks, the carpets were dirty, and the armrests were sticky, suggesting they had not been cleaned for some time. The beds were uncomfortable, consisting of two single mattresses pushed together. The television in the spare room did not work, and despite contacting reception to have it fixed, no one attended. To make matters worse, there were ants in the bathroom. We had breakfast at the club on two occasions, and on both days the buffet food was cold. We also dined at the restaurant for dinner, where the steak ordered medium was overcooked and again served cold—so cold that the butter placed on top did not even melt. We stayed on the final day of summer, yet the lagoon bar was closed, which was disappointing and did not make sense given the timing. Overall, the experience did not justify the high prices charged. Paying premium rates and receiving such a poor standard of accommodation, food, and service was extremely disappointing.
