We booked one of the two rooms o. The 9th floor with a large balcony looking directly into the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. The room was gloriously large, as was the balcony. The view was magnificent, and most importantly, the staff and hotel managers were so kind, welcoming and helpful, even delivering a complimentary bottle of wine to our room along with a birthday card for my wife who was celebrating her birthday. Great location and a quality hotel, made even better by the helpful, friendly staff.
This is indeed an iconic venue, only minutes from train, bus, and ferry services plus its superb proximity to Sydney's Botanical Gardens and Opera house. The staff are terrific. The breakfast selections equally so. I can not speak highly enough of my joyfull stay, and much of my enjoyment is attributed to the hotel, its location, and what it's got to offer here.
Not worth the price paid. Definitely needs an update. Furniture are old & extremely used. Paint peeling off walls & doors. Poor service. Room wasn’t serviced during the stay & staff made up excuses as to why it wasn’t done. And even after the service, they left rubbish on the bedside table & floor. Hugely disappointing. Safe to say, won’t be staying there again.
I stayed at the Sir Stamford Hotel at the end of January this year, and it was one of the best hotel stays I have had. When we first checked in and saw our room, we noticed the window didn't open. While this didn’t bother me personally, it's important for my partner, who has a dust allergy, to have access to fresh air for his comfort. We let the staff at the reception desk know, and they immediately began to try to find a solution to help us. They found a perfect room, and we didn't need to pay anything extra. He kindly escorted us to multiple available rooms until they found one that suited our needs perfectly. The staff member assisting us was extremely friendly, although unfortunately, I didn't catch his name. We then ordered food to the hotel and the restaurant didn't give us any tomato sauce, so I called the reception and asked if they had any I could come down to grab or buy. The man who answered the phone told us not to worry and that he would be right up. After a few minutes, we got a knock at the door, and the man had shown up with a handful of tomato sauce containers. He was very polite and generous and completely made our dinner and night. I was unable to get this mans name either. Overall, we had a fantastic stay here and would stay here again if we returned to Sydney. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!
What an absolute pleasure it was to stay in this magnificent hotel. Beautifully appointed rooms luxuriously fitted with amazing views and so accessible to transport to take on the wonderful sights of Sydney.
