Restaurant
•Spread over three levels, Shell House is an unparalleled hospitality experience in the Sydney CBD, combining both indoor and outdoor settings over 1,250 sqm of space. This includes a ground-floor bar, the Menzies Bar, the Shell House Dining Room and Terrace, the Clocktower Bar on level 9 and the Shell House Sky Bar on Level 10. The bar and restaurant have been given a luxe makeover with warm bronze and gold marble and a leather fit-out featuring a blackened steel bar, an overhead bar hamper storing more than 1000 bottles of spirits and a marble fireplace. Rooftop diners will be provided with a bird’s eye view of the building’s iconic 400-tonne clock tower, which has been lovingly restored after being suspended mid-air for several years while Shell House was excavated and rebuilt. Shell House is historically significant as the only surviving interwar commercial palazzo-style building in Sydney, clad with glazed terracotta ‘faience’ blocks.

We tried the chef's table experience and the food/service was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was very attentive. The premium wine pairing was outstanding and highly recommended. Just couple things for improvement: the seatings are at the end of bar which is located at the entrance of the dining area. I would prefer some place with more privacy and not looking at sinks at the bar. Also, the food was fine dining level, but more signature dishes are required to stand out in this market.
This place is a vibe as they have multiple levels with a full dining level and then the top level you can enjoy a drink and light meals. Perfect place for post-work drinks or the first stop on your night out. The views from the top level are lovely and in nice weather you can sit outside. We enjoyed some cocktails and Prosecco. Both were very delicious. As a light meal we had crumbed olives filled with cheese, which were a perfect accompaniment to the alcohol.
Located in the vibrant Wynyard area, this delightful venue offers an enchanting experience from its rooftop vantage point, where you can savor breathtaking views of the surrounding skyline while indulging in expertly crafted drinks. The atmosphere is enhanced by the warmth of the staff, who are not only attentive but genuinely friendly, making you feel instantly welcomed. The restrooms are impeccably maintained, featuring luxurious amenities that ensure a comfortable visit. To reach this hidden gem, simply make your way through a charming side lane, where you’ll be guided to the elevator that whisks you up to the ninth floor.
The staff was very professional - he was friendly, witty and helpful. All plates we had were fresh and delicious. It has classic vibe inside. Highly recommend it.
Honestly, I could not fault the venue or the service as they were impeccable. We had a warm and friendly welcome and the ongoing table service was courteous and kind. The entrees were great but it all unravelled at the steak. Even cut thin, the quality of the beef was not good - so chewy and unremarkable. If it was less than $24, I get it but the quality did not align with the price point
