Eh underwhelmed overall as heard good reviews. Was not busy and felt abandoned sitting outside. The QR code worked but said “place not open” eventually a human came out. Cocktail a highball of sorts on the happy hour menu was sweet and underwhelming. Have unsaved this place on my google list. And that says a lot.
Friendly staff, great bartenders, good bar snacks. Oh and for some reason gin, many varieties, tasting flights.
Wait staff were friendly and helpful. The downstairs, indoor lounge area had a classic and elegant vintage leather and velvet look. Bottomless drinks lived up to its name. The undercooked brownie that was cut into tiny cubes and served in a small, share bowl for guests to pick up with no cutlery could’ve been served in more generous slices on individual plates per guest with a side of Vanilla ice cream. As desserts are the final course, it should be celebrated and indulged. For the Charcuterie Boar, the ratio of cold meats, cheese and crackers didn’t match the volume of bottomless drinks being served and could be increased slightly. As there’s an extensive drinks menu, I’d be open to coming back to try the indoor, vintage lounge experience with proper food and cocktails to see if that service is better to the bottomless drinks package.
Booked for our wedding anniversary on OpenTable as had read good reviews and thought it would be a fun experience. First impressions were super underwhelming - quiet and zero atmosphere. Our assigned table was teeny but it wasn’t busy anyway so we were able to get a bigger, high table with stools. Ordered a couple of G&T’s then said we’d order food (was excited about the beef and Guinness pie!), but alas no - we were informed the kitchen was closed. It was 7pm. G&T was also underwhelming so we left after 10 mins. Rubbish!
Frank Mac's is a great place to enjoy a leisurely drink in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. With its impressive gin selection, creative cocktails, and charming decor, it's a must-visit for cocktail lovers in Sydney.
