We were excited to try this place. We decided to try the valentine set menu and at the end our bill was $370+ And let me tell you I now understand why we were the only one having it on the day. The photos below are literally what we received from the set menu that cost $165 per person. The moment I saw the main I was filled with disgust on how bland / plain looking the dishes were. Definitely not worth a single penny. If you go there don’t ever try the banquets it is low effort. I don’t how a restaurant can’t be proud of such menu. All the other fine dining/ semi fine dining experience we’ve had in Sydney have been amazing. We are always full and satisfied. I can definitely say that this is the worst set menu I have ever tried in my life. It would’ve been good if they were honest that this wasn’t their best menu and simply recommended something else as the other dishes on the main menu looked good. I wish I read the bad reviews beforehand 🤮🤮. Definitely avoid the banquets sets and order individual dishes. Will give it a shot again in the future but will never recommend any of their set menus
Located in the famous Rocks area in Sydney this restaurant is well worth a try. The only downfall is the view from outside if a cruise ship is in that’s just about all you can see. Not the restaurant’s fault of course but if view is your thing check for cruise liners in berth. The food, service and price was all very acceptable so highly recommended.
We recently celebrated a friend’s birthday and were thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. The food was exceptional each dish prepared to perfection. Despite the restaurant being quite busy, the service was seamless and efficient. Flo deserves special recognition for his attentiveness and excellent recommendations throughout the evening. Her professionalism and warm demeanor ensured we felt well looked after. On the beverage side, Kenny showcased extensive knowledge and provided a remarkable selection of options, particularly with whisky. We highly recommend trying the Alisa Bay it’s a standout choice. Overall, the evening exceeded our expectations, and we would gladly recommend this venue for its outstanding food, drinks, and service.
My feeling was so disappointed after dining at Luna Lu recently. The experience fell far short of expectations, especially given the restaurant’s premium positioning and high price point. To start, the Steak was sliced far too thin, which compromised both its taste and texture. The presentation of the dishes felt rushed and lacked the refinement expected from a high-end establishment. The Peking duck was overcooked, leaving it dry and unappetizing. The seafood fried rice was another disappointment—it was overly mushy, resembling porridge, and the seafood lacked freshness. The prawn toast also fell short; it lacked flavor, visual appeal, and the attention to detail necessary to stand out. The salmon was just average and slightly overcooked, paired with a sauce that was bland and failed to enhance the dish. Overall, the quality of both the food and the service did not justify the price tag or the restaurant’s upscale image. This experience felt like poor value for money, and I left deeply disappointed. Luna Lu has significant room for improvement if it hopes to live up to its reputation in Sydney’s dining scene !
Super Honest Review of mine n my partner ( we both working in hospitality as manager & head Chef) Presentation wise was excellent 5 stars But i have to give 1 ⭐️ for all the food based on the flavour and seasoning - the yuzu chicken served in big chunks, even the pineapple and capsicum. The taste doesn’t pair well and it is very hard to eat as the size was way too big for fine dining. The crackers was not even crunchy at all - Wagyu Egg noodle, the sauce just plainly sweet and bland. Can’t even describe the strange taste of it - seafood fried rice, really bland. I never had any fried rice more bland than this one, the sauce from the seafood helped to give a tiny flavour but not enough - the beef ribs entree soy sauce was over powering the flavour which makes it very salty and the uneven sizes - prawn toast was nice for the first bite, and then it became salty like just salt as the seasoning - the king prawn dim sim would be better to be served chili sauce instead of soy sauce as it makes it just taste salty from the soy sauce The customer service was great, location and view was perfect and very cozy. But i personally wouldn’t be back for the food.
