We were so impressed with the Marriott. The service was excellent - every staff member was interested in us, chatty, always checking to see if there was anything we needed, but not in an obtrusive manner. They had upgraded us to a river view room which was lovely. Champagne on arrival. But the loveliest thing was to come back from dinner to find a bottle of champagne and cheese platter to help celebrate our anniversary - we had stayed at the Marriott 15 years previously for our wedding night. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A really lovely evening and we will definitely go back. Thank you!

The hotel staff are pretty friendly and accommodating here. The hotel is centrally located to lots of businesses and a few mins walk away from the wharf stations for taking ferry rides around the river to where you need to go. The food is pretty decent as well at their restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel, if you plan to stay in Brisbane.

Looking its age but still clean and tidy. Service a bit ordinary so doesn’t get 5 stars. The restaurant food is basic and would go elsewhere. The conference facilities are basic. No use of the river views from restaurants or conference room.

Rooms and location were superb — but service fell far below expectations for a 5-star hotel. While the physical aspects of the Brisbane Marriott (room comfort, cleanliness, and location) were excellent, the service level was closer to a 3-star property. This experience suggests that Star Ratings Australia / Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC) should seriously reassess the hotel’s 5-star rating. Key Service Issues: • No concierge at ground floor to assist with luggage — on both check-in and check-out • Only 1–2 front desk staff despite a long queue of guests • We arrived early and requested early check-in; were told we would get a callback at 12pm — no follow-up at all • On return, were told to requeue again despite having completed paperwork and deposit earlier • In-room phone system couldn’t reach customer service / reception • After check-out, we asked for drinking water and were refused, despite just being guests • Even on departure, no staff helped with luggage — even though we had children with us • The service standards do not match those of other 5-star properties globally (e.g. Thailand, Bali, Singapore) Brisbane Marriott may carry a 5-star label, but the service experience is lacking, especially compared to global hospitality benchmarks.
