I am from Melbourne and have not visited the Gold Coast for over 7 years, I was very much looking forward at staying at Soul Peppers simply because it looked phenomenal! We stayed for 6 nights and booked a 3 bedroom ocean view “serviced apartment”…this apartment was hardly serviced. The “daily apartment cleaning” was only making the beds. The towels were not changed ( I know this because I got makeup on one of my towels and the towel was simply folded and put back in the bathrooms) the same towels were folded and placed in the bathrooms, no fresh towels were given, the toilets weren’t cleaned properly, the bed sheets were not changed throughout our stay and the living area was never fixed or cleaned. It was a disappointment! The beds are NOT COMFORTABLE and the furniture is VERY outdated and dirty, it had staines on most seats. The in house Foxtel control did not work. Our stay included a complimentary breakfast buffet, which was very simple, not much variety. The lifts took forever to come, at one time we waited almost 15 minutes. The pool, the steam room and sauna on the other hand are really good. Although no towels are ever kept there, you need to take your own towel. The location of the hotel is the only thing that is fantastic because it’s only 100m from the beach. Overall very overpriced for what it’s worth, it’s not the 5 star standard and honestly I will not be staying here again.
THE BEST STAY!! The room we booked was so lovely we stayed in 3902 after being upgraded, which was so nice. The facilities are great and we really loved the outdoor spa and pool. The staff were so friendly and we will defiantly be back soon.
We had a very good experience and received great service from the receptionist, her name is MO. She is very lovely and friendly. We checked in late, just before midnight, but she made the check-in process smooth and quick. It was our first time here, and she made it unforgettable. We will definitely come back again. Thank you for your service, MO!
We stay here every year and it is always a great time. The location in the absolute heart of surfers paradise is perfect and the unobstructed views of the ocean is amazing. We absolutely love to come down and stay.
We booked and stayed in a 3 bedroom ocean view apartment for 11nights. The building location is great, the view and apartment general layout is lovely. The lifts are 3/10. There are many factors contributing to the lift issue. Firstly, no towels are kept on the pool deck, there is a huge volume of people travelling between level two and level three to acquire towels from reception. This also adds to the volume of people in reception and greater work for the reception staff. Having towels at the pool bar where people could show their room key would solve this problem. Secondly, the lifts are filled with cleaning and service staff throughout the day. Oftentimes the lift would be full and stop relentlessly between our level (33) and ground with the doors opening to glum cleaning staff and waiting for space. Not only does this add to the delay in the lift operation but is also akin to a mid level brand and not what I’d expect of peppers. I understand the cleaning staff need to get to every level to service the rooms and it appears no service lift exists. Could a suggestion be that there be a comprehensive storage room on each level that would mitigate the need for the cleaners to drag their miniature sack trolleys between the room levels and the carpark to restock their supplies. The suggested store rooms could be loaded off peak and during the night. Not only would this solve a large element of the lift issue but also reduce time wasted by cleaners waiting for lifts. The number, and size of the lifts is also daunting for people who need extra space - for example, people with mobility devices like walkers, and people with prams. There just isn’t enough room.
