Hope Island Tavern has become one of our favourite go-to spots on the northern end of the Gold Coast. The vibe is super relaxed and it’s got that nice mix of being casual but still really well put together. Whether you're just popping in for a quick lunch, meeting up with friends for drinks or bringing the family along for a chilled-out dinner, this place ticks all the boxes. The food is solid every time. We’ve tried a bunch of things from the menu and everything’s been consistently good. The steaks are juicy and cooked just how you ask, the wood-fired pizzas (even vegan!) have that perfect crispy base and even the simple stuff like garlic bread hits the spot. They’ve got a great selection of meals for kids too and if you’re there on a Sunday, they’ve usually got free kids’ entertainment which is a huge win if you’ve got little ones. One of the best parts is the big outdoor beer garden - it’s perfect for sunny afternoons with a cold drink in hand. There's also a decent playground so the kids can run around while the adults unwind. Service is friendly and laid-back, exactly how it should be in a local spot like this. All up, Hope Island Tavern just feels easy. Good food, great drinks, relaxed atmosphere and genuinely nice staff. Whether you’re local or just cruising through the area, definitely worth stopping in. You’ll probably end up staying longer than planned. [Follow my adventures on instagram crushinglimits]
We had Wood Fired Pizza Margarita) and Jungle Green Curry with Tofu and rice. Both were excellent and the curry very tasty and not too spicy. The service was excellent and staff very polite and welcoming. The Bistro and outdoor dining is very nice and recently updated. Have been a few times and will continue to go here, usually with a group of friends.
This was our first time at The Hope Island Tavern. There is a beautiful large outdoor area to eat at. We were served by Zac who was friendly and made sure everything was okay with our meals. I had the beef cheek papardelle and my husband had the charcuterie board. My pasta was delicious and the board was huge. My husband couldn’t finish it. The toilets and other areas we visited throughout the Tavern were all very clean. I would recommend this place.
Unbelievable, the service, the food, the renovation. Management was so friendly and welcoming.Renee was wonderful to talk to. The food hit the spot. Free face painting for the kids. Playground was so clean and the adults kept cool with water mist blowing. Thanks guys will be back.
The new renovations are a great improvement - much more family friendly! The meals are fabulous and always cooked to perfection. I was very disappointed that for almost $40 I got the smallest piece of fish. I will not order this again despite it being cooked perfectly as it's not value for money, not filling and is accompanied by a boring salad that simply fennel in a cabbage leaf. Thankful for a beautiful spicey margarita that was not on the menu but executed perfectly.
