We had a great stay at the Novotel South Bank in a pool access room. The kids had a fun time with easy access to the pool and an extensive breakfast buffet. The location was great, just a short walk to restaurants and weekend markets. We especially appreciated being given a very early check-in. Many thanks to the lovely staff!

I had booked in for this hotel for two nights with kids. Had a comfortable stay. Close to south bank. Some staffs were friendly and helpful but some were not which i understood. Asked room upgrades when I made a booking, but wasn’t offered. After we checked in, resting quietly on bed, there was a knock on the door. One of the staff was standing at the door and just handed me a welcome card. I was like 🙄?? Isn’t that supposed to be placed on the desk or something before we checked-in? I wasn’t provided room cleaning on the second day and had to contact the reception as we needed towels. The house keeping staff who brought towels looked upset for whatever reason. And finally, when we came back from dinner in the city, the room was cleaned a bit. Seemed they were rushed to clean the room. Beds made badly, dirty glasses were not put away, and food crumbs i saw when i checked in were still on the carpet. Buffet breakfast was good and restaurant staffs in the morning were friendly and helpful. Kids enjoyed swimming in the pool. Overall the stay was okay but wouldn’t come back to be honest.

Well this didn’t go as planned. I had originally booked and paid for non-refundable 2 night stay in November, just a getaway for hubby and myself. Dates were changed to January due to illness and was told the room rate was cheaper so we had credit which covered parking and a bit more. In Jan my mother took ill so dates were changed over the phone to Feb 13-14, and yes still had the credit. Imagine my surprise to be called to reception after check in (room credit had been discussed) to be advised we still owed $700 making it just over $1200/2 nights (probs price gouging due to nearby event). I explained I was not told of this when date was changed over the phone….. also how come I still had room credit? Why didn’t they contact me before the weekend to advise, also, I had booked non refundable so this should have been paid BEFORE the weekend. Apparently there was an attachment to confirmation email which I didn’t read because the changed dates were in subject heading. Manager wouldn’t budge - we got 1 night stay …. Believe me this room is NOT worth the $600/night. I have learnt 2 things - 1. Always check email attachments in case they pull a swifty and 2. Never staying there again

This was by far the nicest Novotel I have ever stayed in. Thien, who checked us in, was wonderful — after arriving exhausted from our flight from England, she personally came up to the pool area to let us know our room was ready early, which absolutely delighted us. I enjoyed a tasty coffee in the lobby, and although I didn’t order food, everything looked great. The hotel was spotless, stylish, and in the perfect location — close to everything yet peaceful and relaxing, with a playground just across the park. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with quiet air conditioning and a special view of the city and the South Bank wheel. The restaurant and bar were excellent as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I’m ever back in Brisbane — 10/10, thank you very much.

The hotel had everything we needed, staff were lovely and the pool was a refreshing reset on a muggy afternoon. We were even given little soft toys on check in for my children! We chose the Novotel as it was close to QGoma and Southbank - easy to park the car and then walk around. Buffet breakfast was wonderful. Will definitely choose Novotel again for our stays in Brisbane!
