14 Bridge St, Reynella SA 5161, Australia
Function Venue
•St Francis Winery Resort, Reynella is the site of the first grapevine plantings in South Australia; one can expect to find picturesque vistas, historic buildings, excellent food and plenty of good drinking around those parts. Really, it's little wonder St Francis Winery Resort is such a popular function venue. Built in 1852 and situated on five acres overlooking Lake Carew Reynell, St Francis Winery Resort features a number of spacious function venues – all as elegant and versatile as the next. Frequently the host of weddings and conferences, the spaces available easily transform depending on the needs of the event. With countless photo opportunities outside and plenty of scope for lavish dinners or cocktail parties inside, St Francis Winery Resort has hosted golden wedding anniversaries, meetings, as well as birthdays.
This space connects with the Main vines function room, it is usually the dance floor area but can be hired as a space of its own for any small event or meeting area. This space can hold 34 people seated.
The Main vines function room is our most desired event space which usually has a capacity of up to 100 guests. It has its own outside pergola area attached which can allow for a lot more guests in our warmer months.
The Governor Phillip function room is next door to the Main Vines function area and is a great space for conferences, meetings, birthday events, and trade shows. It has its own private bar in the entry area plus its own amenities. This room...
Lakeview function is one of our small rooms amongst the other space and it can accommodate 24 people seated. This space is elegant and versatile as other spaces can be the host of weddings and conferences events, the spaces available easily...
We had a lovely 60th birthday lunch there. It was busy as Seniors Day so waited a bit for food, but we were told that. Good food, lovely white sparkling..Lois Lane.. staff were lovely.
Unfortunately this was a bad experience for me. The room was barely back packer standard & nothing like the promotional pictures, even after a suggested upgrade. The features of room 208 included... Rusty shower fitting, grout mouldy and / or missing in the bathroom, paint missing with exposed timber on the skirts under fridge area & generally in need of a deep clean. Came back after lunch to find my door open, after the cleaner had gone, leaving my personal belongings unsecure. Expressing this to the manager was pointless as the response was "sorry you had a bad experience". Instead of being an overpriced cash grab group, please just do better as SA tourism is getting left behind.
My Daughter Michelle and myself went to this lovely restaurant and had dinner, we had grilled Flathead with Salt ‘n’ Pepper Squid, Chips and Salad. It was by far the best Pub Meal that we’ve had for a longtime. We had a Beautiful Waitress by the name of KD (Karmel)
Unfortunately for me, I had a non renovated room. It was average at best. ( I saw a renovated room during cleaning & noted the huge contrast). Unable to watch TV from the bed, and with a strong musty smell & inability to open the window, I propped the door open when in the room except at night. The grounds, restaurant, bar & gaming venue were all good. Also looks like a lovely wedding venue in old winery building. Staff were all excellent & willing to go the extra mile. KD was particularly great, but really all were including housekeeping. Food very good. Indoor pool was a bonus.
Smelt mouldy soon as you walked in, toilet falling apart let alone the shower and areas not wiped for ages. Bad area to have as a hotel it is really confusing for me to get into, my opinion. Tried ordering room service didn't get an answer 2 first times, the lady on the other end was really rude, would have been nice as well to see a $10 fee for the service on the hotels welcoming book. My recommendation stay anywhere else but here.
