Severe food poisoning from a take away lamb backstrap and veg. I ate some outside the venue but didn't notice. When I got home (5 mins) I went to finish it to realise the meat tasted rancid. I reported it to the bartender who served me. He didn't care and pretty much laughed me off. Be warned DON'T EAT HERE unless you want to risk being really really sick for a few days
The old Ambassador Hotel has had a fantastic makeover and is now The King William Hotel. The beer garden is much nicer and the downstairs bar is lovely. We had dinner before Drag Bingo upstairs. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Staff were excellent. Still a great pub.
While it was difficult to find the entrance, as the venue borders on another adult venue, when I arrived, I was welcomed with a smile and a friendly hello by an enthusiastic young lady. I had originally cancelled my booking due to a double booking, but as my original plans was cancelled, I enquired if I could still have a table, and she was nice enough to squeeze me in. She made me feel comfortable and most welcome, and ensured that she catered for my every need; I was feeling anxious but she put me at ease. The location is gorgeous too, with a nice indoor "garden" with plenty of space, and overlooking King William Road.
Food and service was great, hidden gem, had a chat and met Hugh and Ned great blokes
Food and service was amazing! Definitely coming back
