This was one of the best accomodation I’ve had in Australia. The view is lovely and can be seen in all the rooms that me and my family stayed in! The buffet breakfast is amazing, however the menu for the breakfast and the Atrium doesn’t change. But it is still good for those who don’t mind eating the same things. Staff are kind and helpful and if we go to Tasmania again we will surely be staying here once more! Highly recommended. It was a comfortable stay :)
A very well oiled machine! The room was more spacious than I expected given the cost and the excellent location. Staff were wonderful and everything was very well organised. Only downside was that the cot was a portacot not a proper cot which made sleep hard for our baby (and for us).
Our experience from the first call to the hotel and interactions with staff was outstanding. We were offered options with our room, guidance for our sightseeing and we were even provided with cables for charging which we forgot to bring along. Our room which had batt views was the highlight of our trip as we watched the sunrise and weather changes as we enjoyed the views. Highly recommend it and will go back again.
My family and I had a beautiful stay at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart. Our room offered lovely views of the city and Mt Wellington, and everything was spotless and well presented. The buffet breakfast was a highlight, with a great selection of beverages, cereals, and hot dishes to start the day. We also really appreciated the convenient location—just a short walk to fantastic restaurants, as well as the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. The SkyBus provides a direct 30‑minute shuttle from Hobart Airport to the hotel (first stop), which we found very handy. The basement carpark was another bonus, especially with the two EV chargers available. These were incredibly useful, particularly as the nearby public chargers were out of order. If there was one thing I’d change, it would be choosing a harbour-view room next time, as the city-side rooms can get a little noisy on weekend nights. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Thank you to all the lovely staff who were warm and helpful.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my stay at the Grand Chancellor Hobart. Booked for work, I initially thought it might be a generic corporate hotel, but I was wrong. The service was excellent, and the view of Constitution Dock from my floor-to-ceiling window was brilliant. The in-house bar and restaurants offered convenient, quality food and drink. Its location is perfect—right next to Australia's oldest pub, the Hope and Anchor. A winter highlight was the hot buttered rum at the bar, rounding out the genuine Tasmanian hospitality. It's the ideal base to explore this stunning part of Australia's southernmost city. Highly recommended.
