We had a wonderful stay at Manta Hotel. The rooms, location, and overall experience were excellent, and the staff were friendly. The only disappointment was breakfast. When we arrived, there were no eggs, bacon, or mushrooms available. We had to ask staff for each item individually, and while they were eventually provided after a short wait, it was disappointing that these items were not replenished proactively. A little more attentiveness from the breakfast staff would have made the experience perfect. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
Just enjoyed the perfect looong wend at Mantra on Russell. We stayed in a 1 bedroom premium apartment located on the 17th floor with amazing views across the city. The apartment was beautifully clean, roomy and comfortable - a little haven to come back to after exploring the city. Great kitchen and bathroom (shower in bath with a high step up - could disadvantage some guests). Our apartment was serviced daily. Location excellent. Walk or tram so easy. We found the Mantra team just wonderful. Nothing was ever a problem and they were caring, inclusive , friendly and professional. Thanks guys. 11/10 Mantra on Russell. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
What a wonderful hotel. The staff are warm and friendly and very helpful. Location of the hotel is close to everything. Theatre district, China town, public transport. My wife and I chose this hotel for convenience and it certainly was. I was also appreciative of the little things they did for us even they knew it was our wedding anniversary. I would certainly recommend this hotel in a heartbeat.
Pros: We had a premium single bedroom apartment, which was very spacious and clean, with very good facilities. Bed was large and very comfortable. The location is fantastic - especially if you are visiting Melbourne for anything sports related at the MCG, tennis (eg Australian Open) or AAMI park. Surrounded by restaurants and shopping (QV & Emporium malls, including David Jones and Myers). Just be aware that it's not the quietest location - there's always something going on in the neighborhood! The buffet breakfast is excellent, and is great value, especially if you pre-book. The pool and spa are great. Service is friendly and efficient. Cons (relatively minor): The online information regarding available services specifically says "a range of Foxtel channels are available". There are NO Foxtel channels available - when queried, the reception said the only way to get Foxtel is through your mobile device via Chromecast - which is acceptable (I guess) if you have a Foxtel subscription. Which, if you are an international visitor, you are almost certain not to have. So this information needs to be updated. Room servicing - we were there for 10 nights, and only got the rooms serviced twice (one of them they didn't replace any of the coffee/tea/sugar/toilet paper etc so they needed to come back). However, still not sure how it works - the first time we put the "we're out" tag on the door (don't know if that's what triggered the room service or not), and the second time we rang and were asked when we had "scheduled" the servicing. No idea what they meant by that - room servicing was not mentioned at all when checking in, and there's no information online in relation to it at all. So this need to be clarified better for guests. Overall though - highly recommended, and is absolutely a great option if you're coming for the Australian Open or cricket at the MCG, or just for shopping and eating. The public transport, with the free trams, is top-notch.
Disappointed all round. The cleanliness of the room was low. Bathroom had hair in the shower/tub. Dirty carpets & random clothing under the bed. Sheets had weird stains on them throughout. Surprised in the lack of inclusions considering the price & size.of the hotel - No daily room service included. Only 2 towels for a 4 night stay for 2 adults. 1 small popper sized milk in the fridge. Additional daily charge for parking ($50 per day for a non accor members, less for accor hotel members). Breakfast had to be pre booked 24hrs beforehand for non members & cost around $30p/person. Location is great though.
