Easy check in with friendly and informative staff! Deluxe King room with water views from the balcony was amazing. Room itself was on the smaller side for Novotel, but perfectly formed, ultra clean and styled with modern furnishings .. oh and did I mention the view! It was amazing day and night. Buffet breakfast was worth the extra cost - plenty of choices, fresh and always being refreshed. Pool was perfect for some wind down laps after work. Highly recommend!
I recently stayed at the Novotel Geelong and had a generally pleasant experience, though there are areas that could use improvement. The hotel’s standout feature is its fantastic location, right on the waterfront and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The staff is friendly and welcoming, which made check-in and dining experiences enjoyable. The rooms are spacious enough for a comfortable stay, and the bathrooms are well-designed, though some fixtures could use maintenance—loose fittings and low water pressure in the shower were minor inconveniences. One of the best surprises of my stay was Tempo, the hotel’s downstairs restaurant. The food and service were excellent, making it a must-visit even if you’re not staying at the hotel. However, there were some drawbacks. The valet service can get messy, especially because the front desk staff is responsible for handling it alongside check-ins, causing delays. A dedicated valet team would make the process much smoother. Additionally, storage space in the rooms is lacking, with only two hangers provided and no usable drawers, making it difficult to unpack properly. The overall room quality varies—some could benefit from better cleaning and updates, as I noticed dust on top of the wardrobe and stains on the carpet. If you’re booking a bay view room, be aware that there’s a huge difference between them—some have wrap-around balconies, while others only have a small space just large enough for two chairs. It’s worth confirming the balcony type when making a reservation. Overall, the Novotel Geelong has a lot going for it, particularly its prime location and friendly service. With better organization at the front desk, improved storage solutions, and some maintenance updates, it could easily be a top-tier stay.
I recently stayed in a one bedroom apartment with park views and loved it. The check in process was so easy and loved that I could park on the property. The bed was so comfortable and the room was well equipped. One of my favourite places to stay and would highly recommend. Will definitely be back Great staff who were happy to help with anything needed. Wish there were more people like this in the industry
We arrived early as we had my daughter’s graduation. The lovely blonde lady in reception was so helpful and they managed to find us one room, for us all to get ready. Then we went onto the bar for a quick drink, Bonnie service was exceptional. In the evening before going o dinner went and had a pre drink in the bar Sam he gave us exceptional service again. Breakfast next morning Emily was a amazing and the new lady didn’t get her name but all staff gave the best customer experience. Can’t fault at all.
Nice & relaxing hotel on the foreshore. Rooms are spacious with room to stretch out. Small balcony with table & chairs. Room didn't have blackout blinds, so morning sun made sleeping in difficult. Shower is great with 2 different heads, and hot water comes on very quick. Bed is comfy, but neither of the 2 pillows in the room were particularly comfy. Foxtel available in the rooms. Close to everything that you could possibly want. Really, the only real negative is the cost of parking. Would stay again if I found a package that included parking. Breakfast was delicious. The fruit was fresh & flavourful, and lots of staples. Their breakfast buffet was a highlight of our stay. Not heaps of options, but what they had they did well.
