We have been dining in this restaurant for years and yesterday we found a fly in our antipasto plate after we almost finished it, I felt sick, it was under the green olives so we didn’t initially see it, we quickly told the manager, I thought of canceling our mains however it was already being made. I felt the manager didn’t handle it well and just brushed us off, blamed it on the staff for not checking the salad instead of apologising first, he offered some sweets and a discount which we didn’t took, I would stop coming to this restaurant primarily because of how the manager handled the situation. I took some pictures of the food, it was very tasteful and appealing to the eyes however I suggest to inspect it first before eating. The pic of the fly came out blurry though.

Had visited this today on a Sunday. Relatively less crowded which was a plus and the ambience was great too. The service was good and they even accommodated our request for child seats and for some minor changes in the item we were ordering. I had the Spanish Baked eggs which were served with toasted sourdough. One of the few places where the sourdough was perfectly done both visually as well as taste and brittleness. The Spanish eggs were done great too but a little bit too much of tangy was my feeling exacerbated by the fact that there were more olives than I would have liked in there. Maybe they can avoid that in future to avoid the over-tanginess but the taste was still great overall. Definitely worth visiting and a great option overall.

Had my baby shower at Slices Doreen on Saturday in the Lakeview room on the first floor, and it was a great day! Firstly communication with Jo the functions co-ordinator was amazing and she was so accommodating to our many requests and ensured it was all clearly documented! The staff on the day were great too, they were very organised and ensured all the guests were looked after! There was also ample space to fit everyone and our backdrop for photos! Amazing service and would highly recommend this venue for hosting your next function.

Service was good. Food is somehow average. Portions quite big. The sauce given for lamb shank was somehow disappointed. It tastes like Bolognese sauce, would been better with black sauce or mushrooms sauce. The restaurant was booked for function/ reserved. So limited tables were available. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have corner for desserts. Many choices available.
