True South is a modern Argentinian Restaurant with good vibes and good food. The restaurant bustling and packed on a busy Saturday night. We were fortunately enough to get a seat for 2 without a booking. The restaurant was casual and felt very comfortable. The service was polite and efficient. We had the Cordero Asado (slow roasted lamb shoulder). The lamb was cooked beautifully and was deliciously tender. THe gravy was nice and thick with a strong lamb flavour. Could have been better if there was a slight bit of extra salt though. Also had the special of Seafood Chicharron - which was essentially fish and chips. The fish was beautifully flaky and the batter had a nice bite. Overall a great feed in a nice busy environment. As expected the prices were a little on the higher end though worth a try if in the area.
Food was absolutely delicious, 10/10. However, the prices are crazy. Absolutely ludicrous considering what you get. We ordered 3 dishes and they were TINY! We left hungry and spent about $40-45pp. Also, our waitress seemed like she hated her job.
Overpriced steak with old chimichurri and barely any chips. True South was great when it started with excellent food and craft beer. When the new owners took over, they got rid of the Argentinian Chef and removed the brewery also. Now it's just like any other place with standard offerings. Not Argentinian anymore and only CUB beers. So 😢
Sooooooooo Good!! Took us more than 30 mins to drive up there. But worth of the drive. Crispy sprouts were amazing. Calamari was crispy outside and soft and tender inside. Even the rocket leaves next to the calamari were tastier and fresher than other restaurants. The chicken was divine. Don’t know how they cooked the chicken so tender and tasty at the same time. Thank you for the good food. We had an amazing lunch there. We will come back soon.
Great location for a beer outside when it's a nice day. I've taken off a star because the service is a little cold at times and the prices are a bit high when compared with the portion size. Main meals are all over $20 but are not big enough to satisfy a person as a main meal. Broccolini was innovative but super sweet, a bit unexpected. Rice and beans salad was yummy. Calamari was a bit soggy. We'll be back but probably only for a beer.
