Location: Perth city, There is a 24-hour convenience store next door, walking distance to Elizabeth Harbour (didn't go). Employee: Philip (I only knew his name after asking the supervisor in the morning). He was very friendly, asked detailed questions about the customer's needs, and introduced the hotel's facilities and location. Feeling cared for, compared to the mechanical check-in at other hotels, this is more human-like, and I give a thumbs up to Philip. Room: The sheets are clean, the pillows have no odor, the towels are clean and dry. If you often travel, you should know how important these three points are. I didn’t experience breakfast and the bar because I didn’t have time, so I don’t dare to make a random evaluation. This is also the hotel where the cabin crew of Cathay Pacific and Malaysia Airlines stay, and the environment is very good.
Very cozy hotel. Rooms are big though a bit dated. I thought the power points would provide international power plug options. So bring your own converters. Location wise not very central but free Cat buses stops just beside the hotels from Perth Station (from airport) - only 2 stops! Very friendly staff and just to shout out to a Mr. Son who was very helpful and just super friendly.
Stayed in the hotel multiple times for a night. Last time stayed there for a whole week. On the upside - the reception personnel was always nice and friendly, there is always a jar of nonalcoholic drink at the reception which is nice, the rooms are spacious and clean. However what I ran across during my last stay was something non-welcoming at all. The housekeeping personnel was performing their duties not only during day, but during every night as well. And I wouldn’t mind if they would have been quiet and I couldn’t have heard them. However the situation was completely the opposite: the trolleys were making noise when dragged along the corridors, glass water bottles were clinking together, the housekeepers were not holding doors when entering or leaving rooms so the doors was slammed by door closers. Even sleeping with ear plugs not always helped. At some point I raised this problem with the reception, but nothing changed after that. To my mind, this is a rather questionable decision by the hotel management and I am positive it needs to be reviewed. I hope I won’t need to stay in this hotel anymore
We stayed just the one night. Bed was comfortable, room clean and staff at check in were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast, good range of vegetarian and dairy free options. Fitness centre was basic but good enough for a travel workout. The only issue we had was some noice from the lift overnight. Would stay again and request a room away from the lift.
Upon arrival it was nice to see a professional atmosphere with a reception desk with a staff of friendly greeters. There was a little bit of a caffufle with regards to identification. Head of reception intervened. They want to see a photo of you - something new?? My husband didn't have one and they wouldn't accept mine since reservations were made in his name. They asked for his email, yet the lack of a photo was still an issue. Finally, reception gave in, upgraded our room, gave us two drink vouchers and had a bottle of wine sent up to our room. All good. The room was nice enough, but what was the room upgraded from -? It looked like a standard room with the exception from the king size bed promoted from a queen - again, all good; $295/night. After the wine showed up, we ordered a cheese & cracker platter to be sent up, as the restaurant on ground level was closed until 4:00. We ordered it at 3:25; it arrived at 4pm. How long does it take to get a plate of cheese and crackers organized? Though it was more like just a few crackers, tiny slices of a little bit of cheese and a ton of dried fruit; not much of a cheese platter for $21. We had dinner at around 6:30 at the now-opened restaurant - not very impressive. My husband had tandoori pizza, which tasted much like a supermarket value frozen pizza. I ordered the burger and was offered a side salad since I didn't want the chips. The order arrived with no salad. Went back up to the service counter, they verified I indeed had a salad coming to me, they left, I waited about 6 minutes. I went back to my table at which point the wait staff said a salad was being newly prepared. It arrived. No dressing. If there had been then it was tasteless and/or hardly any of it on it. Peeking at the bottom of the bowl, I did see a faint drop of some kind of yellowish liquid - what was it?? Not dressing. The lettuce was damp with what seemed to be,,, uh, water(?!). Went back to the service counter asking for the dressing; they took it, returned it, still no dressing. At least it was a decent burger; $57 all in for one burger and a blase pizza. Next morning: Breakfast, included with our stay. Lots and lots of choices, buffet style, you could also order specifically, as there were little slips of paper in a little cup with other little things, advertising as such, but you didn't know that until you filled your plate with barely-warm mediocre food and brought it to your table, with it turning to ice cold within 5 minutes, The food looked to be on top of burners in pots, yet hardly warm. Regarding the made-to-order option, they ought to have the staff who greets you inform you of this choice; or is it just designed that way so the cook wouldn't have to carry out the task -? Conclusively, there had been a small heap of rubbish in front of the door of the room next to us that sat there for hours until I finally mentioned it to the front desk. This hotel is not representative of the Sheraton whatsoever. It's an affordable option to a slight step up from a lesser accommodation. But kudos to the lead reception guy making an awkward situation right, very pleasant staff, including bar & restaurant staff, and the room for its cleanliness. Sub par, three stars at most. I'd keep my options opened while looking for accommodations, but if you choose this hotel, enjoy the friendly staff, clean room, a cocktail, but don't bother eating there, not worth the dosh$$.
