Great value, easy 5min walk down to Fortitude Valley shops and train station or you can have a 30min stroll into the Queen St Mall. Rooms are cosy and comfortable. Very compact tho could do with a drawer and some hanging space. Shower was nice and hot. Staff were always welcoming and helpful. You can include breakfast with your accommodation and enjoy it on the terrace in the Sun. Room service and snacks available after 6pm. Wheelchair accessible and parking is available at $30 per night.
I recently stayed at Kennigo Hotel Brisbane and had a very positive experience. There was an issue with the TV in my original room, so I spoke to reception and was moved to another room. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred there as well. The receptionist who assisted me was incredibly kind, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process. To make up for the inconvenience, she kindly upgraded me to a larger room, which was greatly appreciated. Excellent customer service can make all the difference, and turn a frustrating situation into a pleasant stay. Thank you for going above and beyond I would happily stay here again. 😊
Decent location, we’ll appointed rooms, felt a bit cramped with 2 people but the bed was comfy, room was clean (all bar a little surprise under the bed, found during the “did we leave anything” check). Staff were friendly and polite. Location is perfect; short walk to Brunswick Mall, China Town, restaurants, bars and clubs. Didn’t eat so won’t comment on food but saw plenty of people in for breakfast and the coffee was on point 👌🏼 Definitely on the upper end of the “basic” price scale but you’ll receive upper end of “basic” amenities in return.
The room was good. It wasn’t super cheap for a basic room but more than adequate. Can’t really rate service because we didn’t require any (such as room service etc). Reception staff were polite and efficient. No price list for mini bar. There were two small bottles of water in the room so we couldn’t work out if they were part of the mini bar. (The bottles weren’t in the mini bar) - anyway we found out they were part of the mini bar when they charged our card $10 the next day. Thought that was a bit stingy.
I strongly do NOT recommend staying at this hotel. The most unacceptable issue: our room door was left open on 4 separate occasions after housekeeping had been inside, with all of our personal belongings inside. This is a serious security risk. We reported this to the front desk multiple times, yet nothing was properly resolved. This alone is completely unacceptable. Service and housekeeping were extremely poor: • 2 staff members entered our room on seperate occasions without knocking on the first morning • Loud hotel speakers were playing music at 7:00 AM • The room was never properly cleaned or vacuumed during our entire 8-night stay • Beds were not consistently made • We were sometimes left without toilet paper • Only one set of towels was provided despite being two guests The gym is also in bad condition. Machines are broken and make loud, unpleasant noises, making it basically unusable. To make things worse, the fire alarm went off at 3:45 AM, forcing all guests to evacuate the hotel for no serious reason. The front desk staff were unhelpful, unprofessional, and not solution-oriented. Overall, this hotel is far below standard for its price. There are much better options in Brisbane. Avoid this place.
