I had an amazing meal tonight at Sasso Italiano and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. I started with the Bruschetta Meatballs, which were packed with flavour and beautifully finished with fresh basil, rich tomato and plenty of parmesan. For the main, I had the Bucatini Amatriciana, and it was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce had great depth and flavour. The Montepulciano red wine paired perfectly with the meal and was a great choice for the evening. To finish, I had a Classic Negroni, which was balanced perfectly and a great way to end dinner. What really stood out though was the service. The staff and waiters were incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive throughout the night. The service was excellent and made the experience even better. Amazing food, great atmosphere and outstanding hospitality. I’ll definitely be back. Red wine from Montepulciano Bruschetta Meatballs Bucatini Amatriciana Classic Negroni Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality Italian dining experience.

My partner and I dined here for the first time and was seated in the room behind the main restaurant. I would highly recommend this spot if you were wanting a small group gathering or an intimate dinner with a loved one. The food was delicious and staff were very lovely. A big thanks to Flynn for his amazing and attentive service. Our recommendations for the night: - Lamb Ragu The meat was very tender and full of flavour. - Burrata and Focaccia Fresh entree to enjoy before the mains - Funghi Pizza Generous size pizza with a good amount of mushroom and cheese. - Coconut Jungle Bird Very sweet, smooth, fruity drink to enjoy before your meal - Tiramisu You can never go wrong with this dessert! Tips: - Limited parking spots on site however there is street parking and an underground parking lot where Woolworths is. - Bigger group dining in the main restaurant. If you want an intimate dinner experience I would suggest the separate bar room on the side.

It has been a long time since our last First Table dinner at the Sasso Italiano. We went there in a group of three, and were greeted by all friendly staff upon arrival. After perused the menu, we decided to go for the calamari, spaghetti with clam, pizza with sausage and eggplant and the grilled lamb cutlets. Dishes were ready in a reasonable timeframe. Calamari were very crispy. Spaghetti was al dente with generous portion of fresh clams. Pizza was better than the one from the Greenhouse that I tasted lat week. Lamb cutlet dish was the hero and also the prime factor to attract us for returning business👍.

Sasso Italiano is a traditional Italian restaurant that offers indoor and outdoor door dining options. I had the pleasure of dining there on a Tuesday early evening. The restaurant opened at 5pm so it would make a great spot to have a meal before the movies. I was impressed by the friendly staff and the menu. Sasso offers their own twist to their dishes which makes it an exciting restaurant when exploring the menu. I ordered the house pickled sardines served with charred grilled ciabatta,red onion and pesto olive oil. It was delicious which paired perfectly with a glass of crisp Riesling. For main I decided on trying the seafood pizza which came in an extremely generous proportions and would be perfect to share. The sign of a good pizza is the base and the crust which were cooked exactly to perfection. The toppings were fresh and delicious. I opted to add anchovies to add a little saltiness to the combination. The experience was reasonably priced at $20-$30 per dish. I highly recommend trying Sasso pizzas.

Have been here quite a few times but this is my first review. We had booked for dinner and were ushered outside by the brusque door staff, not allowed to sit in the interior despite it being empty early evening when we arrived and left. Food was good but a little pricey for what it was. Oysters were small and didnt have much flavour. The chicken marsala was excellent and a very good sized portion. Beef Cheek pappardelle was good, if small. The meringue shards on the coconut pannacotta were soft and chewy rather than crunchy, the Ginger crumble lacked punch. The pannacotta itself though was very good. Asian waiter who served us was excellent though.
