Reviews for Crowne Plaza Canberra

The hotel feels quite dated and shows a lot of wear and tear. The service was mixed, some staff were genuinely polite and welcoming, while others were not very pleasant. Breakfast was okay, I’d rate it around 3 to 4 out of 5. The location was very convenient for sightseeing in Canberra, and the room view was lovely. Overall, I’d give the hotel about 3 stars at best and probably wouldn’t return

I recently stayed here for a business trip. While the hotel is clean and the room is big and well sized. However, the interiors and the carpark do feel a bit dated and would benefit from a refresh. The location is slightly removed from the main shopping and dining precincts—be prepared for a 10-minute walk if you’re looking for a meal outside the hotel. However, the breakfast buffet is a major highlight with an impressive variety of options. A reliable choice, provided you don't mind a short stroll for dinner."

Stayed at Crowne Plaza Canberra and overall had a decent experience. The hotel is very clean (see video), including the room and common areas, which we appreciated. However, the hotel does feel a bit dated, particularly the bathroom — the shower and bathtub would benefit from an upgrade. The reception staff were friendly, polite, and professional, with smooth and efficient check-in and check-out. Breakfast was acceptable but had limited variety (see video). The location is a plus, right in the city and next to Holey Moley and the entertainment arcade, making it convenient for families with kids. Overall, a clean and well-located hotel, though showing its age in some areas.

Great location, just walking distance to shops and cafes. The hotel itself is lovely. It's clean and modern and the rooms are well appointed. I do wish the window furnishings were curtains though, instead of those weird wind up blinds that take so much effort to open and close. Seems a bit antiquated... but a small thing in the grand scheme of things. I like that the desk area is behind the bed, so if you have online meetings, people don't see the rest of the room. The food was delicious, though a little pricier than what I expected. Staff were very friendly and polite. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I'd definitely stay there again.

This was my first stay at Crowne Plaza Canberra. Location was very convenient, close to the city and within walking distance of most places. The rooms were clean and good value for the price. But, I am very disappointed with the billing experience. Everything was paid at checkout, But two days after I checkout, an additional amount was deducted from my bank account without my consent. When I contacted the hotel, I was told it was for Security hold. I have had to call and email again and again which is very frustrating. It has now been two weeks, and I still have not received my money back. What I feel is the billing process should be transparent, and all guests must be informed before any amount is deducted from their account whether it is for security purpose or any other. Not happy at all.
