Such an amazing experience from start to finish. We came in for a quick dinner before heading to the airport and mentioned we only had about an hour. The team were so attentive and thoughtful, bringing dishes out as soon as they were ready so we could enjoy everything without feeling rushed. We didn’t have time for entrees, but the mains and sides we ordered were absolutely delicious. To top it off, I realised I might have lost my ring while we were there (I wasn’t even sure if it happened at the restaurant, but it was a possibility). We called as soon as I realised, and the team immediately helped look around our table, the bathroom, and even the used hand towel basket. When it couldn’t be found, the owner asked the cleaners to leave the sweepings overnight so he could personally go through them the next day and promised to let us know if they found it. He even offered to send it to me in another state if needed. The next day, he contacted us to let us know the ring had been found. I’m honestly so grateful for the care and effort they went to - it’s truly above and beyond anything we could have expected. Everyone was genuinely so kind and caring, and my friends and I were blown away by how sweet and attentive the team were throughout this whole experience. TL;DR: Food is fantastic and the service goes way above and beyond. Would 100% come back and recommend to anyone.
Da Guido completely surprised us—in the best possible way. The quality of the food was exceptional, far exceeding expectations, and every dish was delicious , and we had the pleasure of having some dishes explained with passion by the chef, which made the experience even more special. The atmosphere is beautiful: cozy yet refined, with perfect music, lovely décor( Murano glass from Italy glasses and decor!), and a warm, inviting vibe throughout the evening. A special shout-out to Mirko, the owner, whose genuine warmth and attention made us feel truly at home. This is the kind of place where great food, people, and ambience come together effortlessly. We’ll absolutely be back.
An incredible dining experience. The flavours, presentation and atmosphere were divine. Every bite was heaven! I never knew octopus could be so tender and delicate. Biggest compliments to the chef!! ❤️
This place is amazing! The staff are so kind and genuinely caring. My risotto was a little salty for me, but when I told them, they immediately made a fresh one. Their kindness and professionalism really impressed me. Thank you so much for the wonderful service! And I’ll definitely visit again!
I found it! The best Italian I’ve had since Italy. The team came together to give me the best tasting menu I could have asked for. Every mouthful was an exploration of simple flavours singing together harmoniously with thoughtful textures. I was in flavour heaven and my smile said it all. Consider a tender octopus with a perfect caramelised char on a bed of purple mash that combines the smoothness of potato with a subtle sweetness of beetroot in a pairing. Or the crispy tart bread pieces that rested on an herbed garlic butter base which melted into the slightly salted flavours of the beef bresaola which was balanced by the creamy straciattela and complimented by the sweet caramelised peaches in an emulsion. Perhaps the unexpected stand out for me was an off the menu item that was served to me as part of this tasting. A duck bottoni filled pasta. My God! This 8 hour slow cooked duck which had savoury notes of red Shiraz and perhaps bay leaf, sat on a beautiful duck jus reduction which brought unity to the dish. But wait. There was a drizzle of a cacio e pepe sauce which elevated it to high heaven. And if that wasn’t enough, tiny drops of honey took this dish to a resplendent place. The subtle sweet delicate notes came through softly and perfectly balanced. All the pasta dishes I had were perfectly al dente and silky smooth. After all the food I had (too much to disclose in this one review) and the wonderful deserts I tried, including a wonderful and explorative cheese platter featuring cheese from the bay of fire. I ended the night with a digestivo “Amaro del Capo” from Calabria. A must have to end the experience. Thank you for making my last night in Melbourne so memorable for this foodie. I’m ready to head back to Sydney with wonderful memories that I won’t forget any time soon. Will definitely come back to this gem! My compliments to the chef who put his heart into the feast. What talented hands. And the attentive team that made me feel so welcomed into their restaurant. The team is proud of what they do. And so they should be. Bravo.
