Bridge Hotel offers great pub meals and a wide array of beers. The atmosphere and ambiance is inviting and welcoming. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Worth a visit if you’re in Richmond.

I visited Bridge Hotel in May 2026 with some friends to see some incredible DJs perform and check out the place. We drove over and managed to find street parking nearby, which was surprisingly easy considering how busy the venue was. There are also trams running along the main road that connect the venue to both the city and Melbourne’s south east, so it’s pretty accessible if you’re not driving. We arrived around midnight and the place was still absolutely packed. There were people spread throughout the different outdoor spaces, art areas and upstairs sections. Security were checking IDs at the front entrance and getting inside was easy. To the left of the entrance is the main bar area, which had plenty of drink options available. Unfortunately they were out of a couple of my usual favourites, so I settled on a raspberry vodka instead. The bar itself has a nice seating area, but most people seemed drawn towards the dance floor where DJ Daisa Heart was absolutely killing it on the decks. The music was fantastic all night and flowed throughout the entire venue, so no matter where you wandered you could still enjoy the atmosphere and the DJs. One of the coolest parts of the venue is the central courtyard between the different sections of the building. It has this beautiful garden terrace feel with stone walls, cobblestone pathways and fairy lights strung overhead. It honestly felt like something out of a little European town. Even at midnight it looked stunning, and I can only imagine how nice it would be during the day. There were balconies overhead with people sitting and chatting while groups gathered around the tables below. It was also the designated smoking area, so my friends and I spent some time sitting outside, vaping and enjoying the space. The right hand side of the venue was probably the biggest surprise for me. Alongside what I think was the kitchen area, there was a creative arts space where people were painting, chatting and hanging out. There were easels set up, artwork displayed around the room and even sculptures throughout the space. It gave the whole venue a really unique feel that you don’t often find in a pub or nightclub. Upstairs opened into even more spaces to explore. There was a second smaller bar, additional outdoor areas and more artwork scattered throughout. Little balconies looked out over the courtyard below, and there were plenty of places to sit and escape the dance floor if you wanted a quieter conversation. Toilets were also available on both levels, which was pretty handy. What stood out most to me was how much character the venue has. It isn’t just a bar, a pub or a nightclub. It feels like a mix of all those things alongside an art space and community venue. Everywhere I looked there was something different happening, whether it was live music, people creating art, groups catching up over drinks or dancers enjoying the DJs. The staff throughout the venue were lovely and seemed genuinely invested in making sure everyone was having a good night. I never had a bad interaction with anyone working there. I had such a great time at Bridge Hotel and can absolutely see why so many people love it. Whether you’re heading in for a meal, some drinks, live music or a late night dance session, there’s a lot to enjoy. It has so much charm, plenty of different spaces to explore and a personality that makes it stand out from a lot of other venues around Melbourne. I danced the night away and would happily head back again to try a meal.

Love the pub - but the food was a bit sad. Vegetarian food is super disappointing - the pan fried pesto and walnut gnocchi wasn’t pan fried, doesn’t taste much like pesto and had no walnuts - also super salty. Photos are the reality vs the menu.

We had a family dinner at this great location on a Monday evening arriving in time to catch happy hour. We sat in the “alley” area which had a nice dimly lit atmosphere about it with a log heated area welcomed on a freezing evening. The staff were very nice, friendly and professional but we found the only thing letting the place down was the food which was priced high like a restaurant but still pub quality. Overall though a good place to meet for drinks.

The Bridge Hotel in Richmond is a classic local pub that delivers great value, friendly service and a relaxed night out. I visited on a Monday night for Meatball Mondays, and it was such a good experience. For just around $26 you get a generous serving of classic meatballs with spaghetti and bottomless garlic bread refills, which kept us going all night. It’s such great comfort food and feels like a proper pub feast. The meatballs were decent size and flavourful, the sauce rich and satisfying, and the garlic bread was lovely with the option to keep it coming, a simple touch that made the meal feel even better. Inside there’s plenty of seating, so even when the pub is busy and buzzing with locals or groups, it never feels cramped or stressful to find a table. The atmosphere is classic pub energy, warm, social and friendly, which makes it great for a casual night out any day of the week. Another bonus is parking available on the side streets, which makes getting there easy even on busy nights, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot.
