Pier One sits in an unbeatable spot right on the harbour, with a stunning Opera House view that genuinely elevates the stay. The hotel has real charm and thoughtful design throughout—rooms and public spaces feel warm, stylish, and connected to the heritage of the building. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere from check‑in to checkout. Breakfast is very good, with fresh options and a relaxed setting. Wi‑Fi is fast and reliable, which made planning our days easy. The rooms do show their age a little, and the air‑conditioning struggled to cool the space properly during warmer hours. Still, the overall comfort and design make the stay enjoyable. If you value location, views, and great service, Pier One delivers a memorable Sydney experience.

Super old building, so that comes with creaky floors, a leaky ceiling, and exposed beams (which I kind of like). The elevators are super slow. Each room is supposed to come with an umbrella, but ours didn’t have one. At least the housekeeper was able to find one because they had run out at the front desk. They don’t have nightstands, but instead have thin shelves jutting out just above bed level, which is great if you enjoy smashing your elbow into metal. The shower has a clear glass wall that opens up into the living area, which can be covered by an opaque barn door. It’s rather odd because whoever’s in the bedroom while you’re taking a shower can choose whether or not they want to watch. There were two of us staying in the room and they gave us a welcome gift of one cupcake. Generally, I’ve found that Autograph Collection hotels are a tad more generous for Ambassador level members. Location is great, right by the Sydney Harbour Bridge. And the views off our balcony over the water were very nice. I think it would be a great place to host an event.

We booked New Year’s dinner at an extremely high price. Set menu. Not very organized to start with. Long lines to get in gave immediately an average and not superior feeling. Regular food was plentiful but unfortunately mediocre In taste. The vegetarian menu was very much the worst we had in any restaurant. No creativity and absolutely no taste. Just a bunch of vegetables a plate. That was also served last in the room. Long after the other dishes. Very inexperienced staff. As if they all had their first day at work. Receiving orders from the manager continuously and constantly going to deliver things at the wrong tables. The view at the balcony is stunning and that is what they live off. Sad.

On top of the incredible service, the location is unbeatable — right on the harbour with stunning views and easy access to The Rocks, the Bridge, and great dining options. Beautiful Stay on the Harbour We really enjoyed our stay at Pier One Sydney Harbour. The location is absolutely perfect — right under the Harbour Bridge with incredible water views and just a short walk to The Rocks and Circular Quay. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, and the building’s mix of heritage and modern design gives it great character. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a very cozy bed and large windows overlooking the harbour. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast was tasty with good variety, though a bit pricey for what was offered. The only small downside was that parking and some extras came at an additional cost, which made the stay feel a bit expensive overall. Still, it’s a fantastic place to stay in Sydney — beautiful views, great service, and a memorable experience. We’d happily return!
