Marriott Sydney exceeded our expectations!!! 10/10 stay for our family visiting from America. We booked 2 rooms with Opera Views and we were very happy with our accomodations. The hotel is absolutely stunning, grand, luxurious!! The lobby certainly offers a WOW experience!!The hotel breakfast was indulgent, delicious and bounitful!!! So many beautiful views in the hotel. The service is top notch and impeccable. We truly appreciated the early check-in lounge, which was in excellent condition. They sent a welcome platter to both of our rooms upon check-in. The location is so convenient. We travel around the world and MArriott Sydney was one of our best hotel stays. We are so thankful for our spectacular experience with this hotel and would highly recommend it to others!!

I have been a Marriott Bonvoy member for nearly 10 years, but I found a much better rate for this hotel through Hotels.com and ended up saving about $330 on my five-night stay. While I don’t typically book through third-party sites, I really wanted to stay at this property, and I’m glad I did. Despite booking through a third party, the check-in process was seamless. The hotel's location was the biggest draw for me. Tt’s right in the heart of downtown Sydney, with easy access to train and metro stations and within walking distance of Circular Quay, making it an excellent base for exploring the city. The staff were outstanding throughout my stay. I also used the laundry service, and everything was returned promptly and exactly as expected. While the hotel is on the pricier side, the prime location, convenience, harbor view, and excellent service make it well worth the cost. I would definitely consider staying here again on a future trip to Sydney.

Overall, my stay at the Sheraton Grand Sydney Harbour was excellent. From the moment I arrived, the front desk team set a positive tone — welcoming, efficient, and genuinely attentive. Check‑in was smooth, and every interaction felt professional yet friendly. The breakfast and evening service were consistently well‑organised, with a good variety of dishes and fresh ingredients. The location is unbeatable — just steps from Circular Quay, the Opera House, and great dining options. It made getting around the city incredibly convenient. A special callout to Mr. Awam, the barista I met one evening. His courteous service and attention to detail stood out, and he made the best latte. Small touches like this elevate the overall experience.

We just started our 3‑day stay and the experience has already been exceptional. We arrived early and were welcomed into the lounge while our room was being prepared. Kayra, the Guest Relations Manager, took the time to give us fantastic recommendations for exploring Sydney and was incredibly warm and hospitable. After a long flight, the lounge food was exactly what we needed. When our room was ready, Steve greeted us with outstanding service and even surprised our daughters with a welcome gift that included local Australian candies — they absolutely loved it. The complimentary welcome gifts in our room were another thoughtful touch that made us feel valued right away. We’ve stayed at many Marriott hotels around the world, and this property is already standing out for its exceptional service and genuine hospitality. Huge appreciation to Steve and Kayra — they are outstanding associates and have made the start of our stay unforgettable.

Do NOT stay at this hotel. My experience was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price. When I booked the room, the description advertised a “sky view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.” Instead, I was given a room overlooking nothing but nearby buildings. It felt misleading and was nowhere near what was advertised. The room itself had flashing, faulty bathroom lights, which immediately gave the impression that it wasn’t properly maintained. The walls were dirty also left over plaster stains and peeling paint. To make matters worse, the room didn’t come with basic essentials like forks, spoons, plates, bowls, or even milk. When I asked for utensils so my partner and I could eat our food, I was told it would cost $10 per utensil. Charging guests extra for basic dining items is simply unacceptable. Also, the kitchen (if that’s what you want to call it, just a cupboard in the corner of the room with a kettle and coffee machine) didn’t even have a sink. The only positives I can mention are the location and some of the staff. The hotel is in a great spot—about five minutes from the train station, around ten minutes from the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and there’s an Anytime Fitness right next door. The staff were also friendly, especially the doorman (I’m not sure of his name, but he was Asian), who was welcoming, funny, and genuinely made us feel appreciated. That said, this room was absolutely not worth $700 for two nights. At best, I would value it at around $450–$500. If you’re simply looking for a basic hotel in a convenient location and don’t mind paying extra for things that should be included, this place might suit you. But if you’re expecting a premium experience that matches the price, with the basic amenities you’d reasonably expect, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
