Reviews for Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay

The location of the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay is absolutely outstanding. It’s hard to find a better place to stay in Sydney. You are right at Circular Quay, within walking distance of the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, ferries, restaurants, and many of the main attractions. The views from the hotel are truly spectacular and definitely one of the highlights of the stay. The staff were friendly, helpful, and cooperative throughout the visit. They made a genuine effort to assist guests and provide good service, which was appreciated. However, the building itself feels quite old. While it is clear that the hotel management tries to keep everything clean and well maintained, the rooms and furniture are noticeably dated. The interior design and furnishings feel very old-fashioned, and considering the price level of the hotel, the rooms could definitely benefit from renovation or modernization. Parking is also quite expensive, which is something to keep in mind if you arrive by car. Overall, the biggest strengths of this hotel are clearly the location and the incredible views of Sydney Harbour. If those are your top priorities, this hotel is hard to beat. But for the price, the rooms and furniture could certainly be updated to match the expectations of a Marriott property in such a prime location.

I paid approximately AUD $900 for an Opera House view room. While the view itself met expectations, I was surprised to discover that the room provided only instant coffee. When contacted reception, I was informed that coffee machines are only provided in rooms located on higher floors. My Marriott Bonvoy profile clearly states a preference for a high-floor room. During my 14-night trip in Australia, I stayed at multiple five-star and four-star properties, as well as a motel in Port Campbell. Every other property, even the motel, provided a coffee maker as a standard in-room amenity. If certain amenities are restricted by floor or category, this distinction should be clearly disclosed at the time of booking. The breakfast buffet is good, but there is only one coffee machine with paper cups.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had a wonderful experience at Him manager at the Restaurant inside the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel, and a big part of that was thanks to the restaurant manager. From the moment we arrived, the manager was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure our dining experience was exceptional. Their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail truly stood out. They took the time to check on us, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured everything ran smoothly without ever feeling intrusive. It’s clear they take great pride in both the service and the restaurant, and it really elevates the entire experience. The atmosphere felt relaxed yet refined, and the service matched the high standard you’d expect from a Marriott property. Exceptional hospitality like this makes a lasting impression. I would absolutely return and highly recommend dining at Himal—especially knowing you’ll be so well taken care of.

We just finished an absolutely amazing 8 night stay at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay. The hotel was in the perfect location and central to where we wanted to be. Public transportation was so close (tram, ferries, train, bus, etc.) The customer service was the best anywhere with great communication, friendly notes and surprises, and special accommodations with my mobility scooter. Special shoutout to Kyra will her wonderful welcome as guest relations manager, Bella at the front office with her kindness and help, Monica who was so friendly and helpful each morning at breakfast, and Ayesha who kept our room clean and orderly. The concierge desk were so helpful and appreciated. There were also many others who went above and beyond in providing great customer service. The buffet breakfast each morning was delicious and worth it. It included so many food and drink options. We especially enjoyed the fresh eggs to order and omelette station. I highly recommend this hotel due to its excellent location, helpful accommodations, and wonderful and friendly customer service. We will return.

We are from Canada and visited this hotel in January 2026. We loved this hotel. Everything was spotless, the location is excellent, and the service and amenities were truly exceptional. The staff are friendly, helpful, and clearly take pride in what they do. A special shout-out to Heddie in the executive lounge and Bella at the front desk. Both were friendly, lovely, and always smiley, and they genuinely made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Their service was outstanding and honestly made our day. You can tell they love their jobs, and it shows. Thank you both for your hard work and for making our stay so memorable.
