Reviews for Crown Sydney

Currently staying 2 night with adult children in separate rooms. 3 different room types- premier suite, harbour bridge studio and deluxe king. We have travelled extensively, Crown Sydney is stunning! All rooms were very large, the deluxe king was a surprise considering it was the cheapest room of the 3. And well appointed, room technology was challenging at first but it’s the way to go. Tip- elevators are a bit daunting, but again, fantastic once understood. We all slept like logs, bed, doonas we’ve very comfortable. Room and facilities are 6 star however, we were left at reception until 4pm on checkin. We arrived at 2pm and were told the room wasn’t available which was reasonable as checkin wasn’t until 3pm. We were told another 10 minutes several times. This is totally unacceptable! I would suggest they offer a coffee or at minimum inform us that they were having issues so we could get lunch. I have written a complaint so will be interested to see if I get a response. Local restaurants selection is reasonably priced and a great variety of selections. Final thoughts, best accommodation in Australia.

If you're wondering why the hotel's service has gone down, the answer is that the hotel does not care about its staff. Went to check in. Waited 40 minutes in line. People yell at the receptionist. No one to help them out, they give attitude. The room view is okay, but for the money spent, it's not good enough. Epicurean understaffed, sad/ angry staff walking around. Waiting in line for breakfast is annoying, especially if you are only allowed an hour to enjoy. Dinner time is a bit of a mess as well, but I think it comes down to the number of staff. You can tell Crown does not look after its staff. The room was not cleaned after being requested twice. It took hours for them to bring a simple towel and water, so I went to the gym instead to grab them myself. The pool is nice, but there are plenty of children in the spa who are touching the emergency button. The children are crying and running around, so it's not a place to relax. Some pool staff are good, but some are on their phones or talking to each other. Valet parking is average, but a $130 fee for that is not worth it. This place has potential, but it lacks in so many areas.

For the price you pay, the service is really bad. I generally don't write reviews but Crown Sydney takes the cake for bad service, incompetent staff, lack of customer service and just bad staff with attitude. I have done lots of business with Crown Sydney, but now at a point of staying away from Crown for any further business. Just as a reference, I took the time to read the reviews and it wasn't surprising to see how many reviews pointed to "incompetent staff". What I am amazed about is the fact that no action has be taken to address this, as progressively it has become worse. I highly recommend NOT to stay at Crown Sydney. There are other very good hotels around with same view, cheaper price point and high quality staff. Valet, $130.00? Wow. Crown Sydney, take a serious not, otherwise you won't be in business for too long.

Amazing hotel with beautiful rooms and top quality leisure facilities ! Only downside is that at the breakfast you are only allowed one hot beverage and are charged for any extra which I have never seen in such a high end hotel before. Normally the tea/coffee is the cheap item that’s free and you pay extra for specific egg choice etc. Even in your basic affordable hotels (such as premier inn) you get unlimited hot beverages, so it’s embarrassing to not have this luxury in such a high end hotel when paying such a high price!

We didn't actually stay in the hotel we only went to the restaurant on what I believe was the 27th floor. Although it was quite expensive we had a wonderful time it was a beautiful place and I know that's what we were paying for. The service was excellent and the appetizer that we had although it was very small was very good.
